If you have the money, buy the pop up lights off of a Diablo :p
Looks like ass in my opinion. Keep the stock lights

While I don't think this is a great idea aesthetically and have no idea how you'd actually go about doing it, may I point out that Arashi's haphazardly pasted on ferrari lights don't exactly do the idea justice nor do they give a very accurate impression on just what a well done final product might look like. Keep it zed, don't try and bastardise it with parts from expensive exotics that it's not.

I'm not suggesting you attempt this, but purely as pipedreaming, what I'd do is attempt a bit of a hybridisation between the z31 and the z32 front. I'd use z31 "sleepy" headlights and a much squarer than stock front bar to play to the 80s sportscar lines that popup headlights evoke.

I don't blame you for wondering about this OP, I got a real soft spot for 80s cars, there's a z31 at work I park next to every day it's there. Damnit, one day when time, money and space permits I'm determined to own one as a project car on classic plates.

Since popup headlights are so square in nature, it makes sense for it to look better on a straight edge profile design.

reminds me of when I modernized the Z31.

I definitely wouldn't call your piss poor effort 'modernising'.

    Sliding headlight covers.

Recess the light further into the aperture ( depth wise ) and then slide sheet metal over the top. While it is sliding back over the light you could make the star trek door opening sound. Of course in the 300 you have to find the room ( hahahahahaha ) to put the slider motor in. ( He said room in the 300z. )

Not a fan of those "mods".
Makes a nissan 300zx look like a 80's lotus. bit of a backward step IMO.
The 300zx was an engineers wet dream, and they pretty much got it right.

It should be remembered that Member veiner shlapen put this subject up for comment, NOT Arashi (who simply provided some visuals for those of us who lack the capacity to mentally formulate such). If you have an issue with the practicality or appearance, blame the original member who put it forward for discussion.[TIS]

I can't say this about a lot of your photoshop products Arashi, but that black z31.5 makes me a little weak in the knees... in a good way.

What black z31.5??? I saw a green esprit, a black esprit, then some z31 that was trying to do some asian standup.

The comment I made was placed in a "public" thread and was my thoughts and not directed at anyone.
Having said that, the visual images supported the OP's thread and is still not favoured by me.
If the OP wants to go ahead with the mod then that is his complete choice, and not for me to say "no", but I do have a right to express my opinion, as do you.

My eyesight is pretty shocking with that sort of resolution, my bad. Regardless though, definately the bumper shape I meant in my initial post.
