Guys if I buy one second hand what is the process of fitting it? Is it a DIY or do I need to engage someone to do it for me? ta

To remove a quarter window apparently you need to slice through the sealant which in turn cuts off the original locating tabs!....which then means you do not have these to locate the window correctly when you refit the second hand ones!
You're better off buying new ones from Coz!

Once these are cut off they are pretty much a throw away.

To remove them you have to cut all the locating dowels whihc makes them difficult to relocate on the new car.

Also the rear rubber seal that seals against the hatch is part of the window and almost all of them are starting to disintegrate.

New ones are about $200 each/ There are 3 different colour glasses The cheapest is the bronze glass tint. Once they are in the car you are hard pressed to tell what colour they are. Just get the cheapest one.

They are quite heavy for shipping as well.

Have you looked at the price of a new one(they're dearer than a windscreen). $245 plus shipping from COZ.:eek:

Dude, I've sold 2 windows in the past that have been re-fitted perfectly. Removed by me and then re-fitted by a glass worker. Had no issues lining it back up... Locating tab is bugger all...

yep, and in 12 months when the rubber seal at the rear starts to fall apart, You will be pulling them off again.

They are 20 years old FFS. How long do you reckon rubber lasts out in weather. I have seen increasing numbers of these really starting to look crap

Oh yeah, the rubber seal thing that presses on the hatch is a reason to replace the qtr window if it bugs you... I'm just saying that they can be re-fitted no probs after removal is all... Soz Tekky, not trying to single u out m8... :)

Funny part is that people actually seem to think that cause the window is small it must be cheap. With the benefit of hindsight if you have to break into the car via a window. The drivers window is the window of choice
