Looks like I got on top of the cars safety boost issue... I installed a boost gauge Done a boost leak test... I found a damaged boost hose on the RHS, fixed that, still only 6 psi boost..hmmm I hooked up a mbc according to the diagram, still only 6 psi. Getting a bit frustrated started tracing the waste gate actuator hoses..surprise! The actuator hoses were plugged into the balance tube..so, the mbc was not doing anything. After rectifying the set up it now works like a charm..boosting up to 13 psi. The boost solenoids, among other things, were removed when the engine was out getting rebuild. Why the waste gate hoses were connected to the balance tube is a mystery to me..all one ever gets is safety or gate-spring boost. So the last three years I was driving around on 1/2 boost and was wondering why there is no kick in this car. Yeah..slow learner Now its quick off the mark and fun to drive. Off to the Dyno!
