    Hey everybody

Been researching in the forum and the section of this website
and it doesnt seem to exactly answer my questions.
    the first question is
my 300zx has aftermarket fuel regulator and 550cc injectors
with the apexi safc. Im currently running stock including stock boost except for turbo back exhaust. Im thinking atm the car is running a bit rich. what pressure should i set the regulator on? as the guy i bought it off said he set it a bit high to pump fuel through the new injectors and and said im able to set it lower later on.

Second question is about light bulb for the low beam
They used H3c bulbs and there are guides to use h3 bulbs in the tech section.
But what is if i want HID lights i read in one thread to buy any H3 Kit but do i still have to add the earth wire like all the H3C to H3 bulb conversion? or the HID kit will cover this issue already?

    cheers guys

your first question hardly makes sense... your runnign a stock car, but has a heap of aftermarket parts?? ITS NOT STOCK... go get it tuned on a dyno and they will adjust everythignto make it run at top condition

If you want HID's go buy the kit off Ebay, straight plug and play setups...

That all sounds weird. Why 555's on a stock engine? What colour are the tops of the injectors?

And correcting for 555's with a SAFC :vomit:

Get a new chip burned, that's just nasty.

hey gusy thanks for the reply

well the guy i bought it off had upgraded turbo setup
    but put back stock ones
all im asking what is pressure a stock fuel system is set?
hope thats more clear, sorry guys about the wording of my question

but yeah could just get it dyno tunes to make it easier for myself

as for HID i dun think you needed a straight on kit for the 300zx
i think any H3C HID kit will work wouldnt it?

    cheers

42psi with no vacuum source is the standard fuel pressure I believe. Check in the factory service manual available in the tech section.

Any H3C HID kit will fit the Z.

    thanks chrispy for your help
will double check it now about the 42 psi

reducing fuel pressure just a touch may only be a temporary fix for your issues. K (injector latency?) values on your computer should have been adjusted for the bigger injectors, but i fear the previous owner just dropped fuel pressure to compensate :W:

if the computer was tuned for it, returning to the standard turbos should not have made a difference as the computer would have readjusted automatically.

    get it dyno'd. [TIS]

K value and injector latency are a bit different. K value is a scaler while latency is how long it takes for the injector to open and shut.

Dropping fuel pressure would be an incredibly dodgy way of getting around it, but I wouldn't put it past some people :p

Chucking it on the dyno may be a good idea to check the AFR's.

If you want you can rip your ECU and send me the BIN file (you need a Conzult/Blazt cable), I can compare it to stock for you and tell you what has changed.

Dropping fuel pressure would totally negate any benefits for larger injectors...not to mention you couldn't actually get it to run right, it wouldn't atomise properly at all. SAFC i can see people using that to tune for larger injectors, although really it should only be used to trim.

    Thanks!! :D

im guessing the previous owner thought otherwise :W: why else would he be changing fuel pressure for changing turbos? im betting he didnt know :-
