Finally got my car to be bluesliped yesterday, but it failed. There were only a few minor things wrong which are almost all dealt with but when i had bought this car it had compliance plates which had come off and were in the glovebox. It is an australian spec 300. He then told me he had to refer me to the rta and now i have to get it inspected at an rta inspection site when the rest of the blueslip is cleared up.
Has anyone done one of these inspections before and should i be worried?

Rivet them back on . As long as all the numbers match and are not related to a stolen car i can not see a problem. My car had a different motor so i had to have it checked. I was worried but didn't need to be as it was a breeze. Although i had to find the number for the chick which is a bitch on the Z so i ended up reding it out to her. ( this was Vic ) how ever i coudn't see N.S.W being any worse.
    Cheers dave

Do you mean that you have to do an identity check ?

If so, they check all numbers are stamped to the chassis, all plates are right and that there are no signs of car having been re-birthed.

Why were the vin plates taken off ? Painting ? Damage repair ?

I have the same thing with mine, The engine was replaced before i got the car but he never got it on the road again, everything else matches but i have a proof of purchase with the correct numvers and the new engine number so hopefully will be ok.

Yeah it is an identity check. I dont know how the plates came off, they were off when i bought the car but they arnt in too good condition. Could have come off in the engine swap who knows.
