experience with liqui moly additives?

    So my z was sitting broken for 8 months. Bad fuel, lost all is oil pressure, sitting in one place.
    I filled it up with fresh 98 ron, and whacked in a bottle of liqui moly feel system cleaner. Thought it couldn't hurt, I was expecting all the volatiles from the winter blend 98 to have evaporated and left a good deal of varnish in the fuel system.

    The motor is still fresh from its rebuild (I've put perhaps 20k on the motor probably 35k tops since rebuild) so looking to do an oil flush and a anti friction additive next.
    Anyone else had experience with this brand of additive? Is a more upmarket product than the wynns type stuff, so hopefully it all goes ok. I'm more looking to reverse any issues from being stored unused long term, rather than unlock an extra 3.12 jigga watts. I'm not planning to boost the tits off it with a gutfull of additives, so not expecting any detrimental effects.

    Anyone got anything to add?

    I've been told the fuel system cleaner works so well that it will block the fuel filter as it lifts everything stuck in the fuel tank.

    Just re-read your post -what's the anti friction additive supposed to do that a good oil won't?

    Also what about an upper engine clean if it's been sitting around? Nulon have a new(ish) product that I'm yet to try on a zed but have used on an MR2 and my Ford that seems pretty good for cleaning intake manifold, valves, piston crowns etc....

    That suburu upper engine cleaner is bloody good stuff!
    Part of a service for all suburu's
    Licenced as Seafoam in the U.S. (its the same stuff)
    Plenty of great reviews on the net - it did a great job for me in cleaning out the TB's/ plenum and valves - just make sure you don't do it on nice new shiney concrete - as the carbon crap pours out the back!

    A bit off track - but that liquid moly bearing gel is amazing stuff as well - if that's anything to go by then the fuel cleaner would be good.

    Filters are a consumable item on cars, so not too concerned if it clogs it up because an additive does its job. I'll probably replace it after the next few tanks of fuel.
    As for the anti friction additive, it's supposed to contain molybdnum disulfide for coating wear surfaces. Probably similar to the castrol magnatec additive in the off the shelf oil. With the limited amount of use my car gets, it always rattles and carries on when I start it for the first few seconds because of low oil pressure on start up.

    Like I said, I'm not expecting a miracle, or much really for that matter. More of a preventative measure than anything else. I use nulon 10w40 fully synthetic, changed regularly given the kms.

    Its in the link :confused::confused::confused:

    Foaming Air intake cleaner - would think its basically the same stuff based on how its applied the same way in a similar can - prepare for a whole lot of carbon to come out the back :rofl:

    I used the liquid moly in my 07 skyline after it arrived from Jap land. Previously the throttle response was not smooth and the car just seemed a smig rough. I think it made a difference. Would use it again as it's about the same price as the others.
