Hi guys I am still having problems with my exhaust, even after 2 18 inch resonators my car still drones in the cabin. I think the problem is beause my mufflers are too small. Will buying some used stock mufflers from the for sale section finally kill the drone?
what configuration is your exhaust system? i have heard that X-pipes are good for cancelling drones. and i know that UAS has a X-pipe resonator which i imagine would be pretty damn good for keeping a system quiet and not droning. X-pipe resonator good luck mate
Is the exhaust mounted so that it doesn't touch the body anywhere. Mine used to drone until I found that some drongo had jacked the car up on the plate just behind the cats which had forced the pipes to touch the plate. Took the plate off - straightened it - no more droning.
Yeah the UAS resonator is what i have on my car And it kicks arse. I tossed around a group buy at the time but nobody ended up buying -and now so much interest! ironic as
My new exhaust drones too I got a cat back 2.5" system with smallish berklee mufflers and twin 2.25" tips. Too loud and droney. I took it back and they installed an xpipe and two resonators. Got more torque and less volume but drone is no better. They are looking at what to try next - maybe need bigger mufflers which may mean leaving off the twin tips which I like. I'll look at the suggestion that the pipes may be touching the body somewhere. /there is a bit of a high pitched vibration at idle sometimes and during hard acceleration at around 3-4000 revs. If all else fails we can put the stock mufflers back on but I'd hate to lose the good gains in performance the new system has achieved.
Drone I had to replace the aftermarket system on mine with a standard system for the same reason. A bad drone at about 80kph.Wasn't touching anywhere.(But I'll put it back on for the dyno day:thumbsup::thumbsup
