Exhaust Gas Temp sensor as fitted to 91 ZX TT

    Anyone got any info on the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGTS ) as fitted to a 91 ZX TT, fitted after the cat. ( one for each side )

    Just managed to rip the cable out of one of the sensors ( just to !@#$%^&*() low ).

    Are they needed as there is no info in the manual that I could find, not shown on any diagrams of the exhaust system. Did not seem to be able to find any info in the circuit diagram either, no values to test to check the function of the sensor.

    Nothing in Search either that is dealing with as fitted EGTS.

    Hi Neil

    Those are actually Cat converter overheat warning lights. Usually only come on when a weak spark causes excessive unburnt fuel to pass thru the zorst. Most 'sympatico' zedders know when their engine is misfiring etc long before these lights come on...
