With all the dump pipes/cats/mufflers group buys going on I've had a couple of PM's about a GB on the UAS "X-System Centre Resonator". Seems like a few people think this will be the missing piece of the puzzle and a quick search of the forums will show plenty of good reviews from those of us (myself, pex, cookie, shifter to name a few) already using this.

This section replaces your constrictive factory H-pipe with a high-flowing X pipe AND incorporates a high quality muffler to reduce resonance, particularly at cruising RPMs. The internals are made of high quality perf tube that allows the exhaust gas to cross over, tumble and accerlate so no need for a balance tube. It has been designed by UAS exclusively for the Z32 and fits in the factory location without any clearance issues. I can guarantee it fits nicely with aftermarket metalcats as this is the setup i was using on my car :D

The unit is available in 2.5" or 3" in/out, and in mild or stainless steel (stainless features stainless internals as well).

Prices as follows based on five participants

    2.5" mild steel: $356
    2.5" stainless stell: $432
    3" mild steel: $432
    3" stainless steel: $495

    Post up your interest here!

You may want to confirm availability on these Rob. I have had one on order since the 15th of last month. UAS claim the manufacturer is running behind.

    Hey Rob

What's the GB saving on a 3in stainless one compared to retail?

More money I don't have right now ;) but my car needs something like this big time.
Not sure if it will fit with the staggered arrangment of my exhaust though. In the middle, one pipe and cat sits higher than the other one.
    Is this normal?

    Cheers
    Ben

Ummm don't think that's normal, mine are nice and level! Guess it depends on the piping... add it to the list of things to check out on saturday!

Price for 3" stainless is $500 down from $550.

The UAS one has resonators built in to stop exhaust drone. No -ve to performance, just no annoying drone in the cabin while you're cruising.

I'm sure a little graduated bend could get it level. Just ask whoever installed it, would probably only take them 5-10 minutes to get it straight.

Ummm did you look at the pics

    Serious answer

Your factory H-pipe consists of two mufflers and a balance pipe. The x-pipe you've linked to replaces this section and improves flow BUT as it does not include mufflers it will increases noise and drone like a bastard. The UAS system incroprates an x-pipe AND mufflers to eliminate this problem and make your car alot more enjoyable to be in.

I believe it's the way it is just so everything fits, the cats are both tilted on their axis and sort of jammed in there and even then they still hang pretty low. There not cylindrical like the metal cat ones they are more the factory shape but they are Redback or something like that.

Anyway, i'll check it out again, im sure something can be done.

Hi Rob, I'm wondering how good the flow/design is on these. Do you have a pic with the can opened up so we can see the pathway of the flow and how the 2 paths converge and diverge again? If you don't have such a pic, are you able to get one?

In the top pic, you can see straight through out the opposite hole.
