Just wondering how many people here would be interested in a GB for a heavy duty clutch.

Depending on interest I will compile a list of 3-4 options and prices and we can vote as a group on which one we would be interested in.

I am not aiming at top of the range, I am aiming around closer to a clutch that will support a some extra power but nothing that can hold 3 elephants or racing clutches. The important criteria will be reliability, lifespan, quality, value and streetability.

I would estimate at this stage the price could be between $500 and $650 per unit, depending on which one we chose etc.

    Let me know.

I think my OEM clutch is starting to let go...

after 100 000 k's does that sound right? Feels like it does when other cars I've owned had let go, sometimes it revs out but no power on gear change, but you never know with these crazy z32's.

Upgrade is tempting but I only have mild mods (dumps, exhaust, coolers about to go in, boost about to be raised slightly).

Any idea what the OEM item is worth? It might help others make up their mind if they're up for replacement anyway.

Streetability is important to me too, I try to avoid driving in traffic but sometimes there's no option.

I will be looking at this option for sure

I know mine is slowly but surely on its way out. Good to see this will be well thought out.

    Count me in.

Dorifticon your sounds like it is definately on the way out.

Mine is slipping much worse every day, it is barely drivable now. Any way I only have a few mods but it is definately better to upgrade over buying stock, installation costs are too high for it to be economical to install a second hand unit. My understanding is that even with a few minor upgrades, the stock clutches, especially as old as ours, they are not designed for anything really over stock power and will all inevidably go. I am looking for economical options as I am on a tight budget myself, also I want something that will support a few more mods but nothing designed for rediculous power. Also as I said drivability is high on the list.

I have already been speaking with XClutch, who are in Adelaide, there clutches appear to be good quality price is around $600 delivered if we get 5 or more buyers, however I think we can do better than this so I am still looking around.

    Keep EOIs coming!!

    i suggest you contact

drpdirect. i purchased some brake parts through them recently, and can't speak highly enough of their service and prices. when i was there, they mentioned that they can get clutches for good prices (infact said they can source all parts at great rates), so shoot them off an email and see what they can do for you.

My clutch is allegedly on it's way out too...

I say allegedly as the mechanic said I'd probably have about 6 months left on it, and that was 12 months ago! But I'm probably about due for one soon, so I'd be interested to see what you can come up with.

    Cheers

I have gone and bought one now

Couldn't be stuffed waiting as mine just went from bad to undrivable very quickly, it is at the stage now where i will have to have the car towed to the mechanic because I cannot drive it.

However for the sake of the people who have shown interest I will enquire on a GB from the states, the clutch I bought cost US$350 plus freight, anyway I will get a quote from CZP.
