hey guys, i started my new job recently and have been traveling to work at 6 in the morning. I've never seen my ambient temp display '2' before!!

I'm definitely getting a new heater core soon, and since they are a part that breaks a lot i thought maybe a group buy would be a good idea.

I've emailed the guys at autoheat.com.au and they've given me the better than expected price of $121 plus $30 delivery. down from $185. Minimum order of 10.

Let me know if you guys are interested, I'm thinking May 16th as the cut off (so most people will have their rudd money) but nothing is set in stone as yet.

    Cheers
    Ben

    In!

Is this the proper Zed one or the Mirage/Magna one? I found the Mistu one a PITA to fit, you have to remove the actual heater box and modify it to fit. The proper Zed one will just slide in.

    edit: that makes 3!

the part number is ICH1013 the same part number is listed for the mirage, but a different number for the magna, yet it looks exactly the same in the picture.

I'll check with them just to make sure it's a straight swap and let you know.

I'll have one either way, but would MUCH prefer the normal Zed one. Not too much of a hassle for me as I don't have aircon anymore getting the heater box out is a LOT easier, but for everyone else it's a pain. Took me and Max about 10 hours to do his.

Sorry to disagree with you Chris, but the 1994 Mirage core DOES NOT require any mods to be fitted to the Z32(it is identical to the original OEM Nissan unit).:zlove:
Some of the other alternate cores DO require some carving of the heater casing.:(

Wasn't there a group buy a while back for around $90?
Or was that for the one that requires modification to fit?

    Might be interested anyway.

Well it was the one from the UAS GB a while ago. Substanial amounts of material were required to be removed.

unless this is going ahead ASAP then I won't be interested. House inspection looming in the next 4 weeks so need my zed BACK together (no mechanical work allowed on premesis) in the next week or two. Might also be moving if we find a bigger place so that puts more pressure on. I'll see how this is going tomorrow, also going to check out a Mitsu dealer tomorrow but yeah for now it's only a yes if we order the cores EARLY next week.

It's basically just up to the numbers, once we get ten I'll order them straight away.

Yes, move it to group buy section. See what the response is like by Monday. If it's not looking good by early week, i'll have to pull out.

Well, I believe I had this same discussion back then Chris.
I had already replaced my Heater Core at least a 18 months before that UAS GB(and it was purchased from Philip Radiator Service in Canberra).
It was a 94 Mitsubishi Mirage core and it was identical to the Z32 item(except for being painted black).
It was still a shit of a job to fit(even with the dash out at the time)but there was no need for any mods.:zlove::zlove:

... but remember that a few are interested on the basis of "direct fit" only ....

.. let us know when you have been able to clarify this point ...

... many thanks for your efforts on this one ....

hey guys, sorry for not replying, been a very long weekend.

I'm 99.9% sure these are a direct fit. but for that extra .1% I've emailed them to ask for confirmation.

This firm is the same one(Philip Radiator Services in ACT)that has been recommended by me(and several other members)for several years on this forum(they have had a name change apparently).
These Mirage cores are an exact duplicate of the OEM Z32 core(as previously stated by me).
    THEY ARE A DIRECT SWAP!.
