For those who don't know what this is, it's a suede-like material that is used in all the new top-end cars. Lamborghini Reventon and LP560, Maserati Quattroporte and Birdcage concept, Ferrari F340 Scuderia, and many more.

I am able to get my hands on both the Alcantara cover, and Alcantara pannel. No that's not a typo, it has two n's. Cover is used for seatcovers and similar and comes with a backing material, pannel is for everything else, and has no backing.

I don't have the email correspondence on pricing from the supplier because my computer crashed, but I'd tentatively put it at $120 /sq yard for pannel, $160 /sq yard for cover, and could readjust if interest warrants it.

    These are the available colours:

Was going to post in FSBB but that is not for EOI, so it's here instead.

    Who's interested?

the 2 top pics ... certainly looks pretty smooth ...

any idea what area would be required for both cover and pannel for a 2 seater N/A ...????

The tweed panels cover an area that is 7' x 42" I think.

As for the seats, well depends what seats you are using. I am going to use Sparco Milano Alcantara seats or similar. Haven't decided. For stock seats, someone in the maxfromaus gb should probably be able to answer that a lot better than I can. The seats would probably be the only place you'd use the Alcantara cover unless you want thicker fabric elsewhere. The backing material obviously makes the cover feel a bit 'softer' than the pannel.

    Interested...

I'm slightly interested but I think I'll need to see colour samples in person if it's possible.

    Cheers

Yeh no worries Rob. They are quite a bit darker than what the pics suggest.

so @ $160 for seats and $120 for trim per square yard (however big that is...), roughly how much do we need to replace all the tweed and seats?

I'm kinda interested. As asked elsewhere, how much do you need to do the stock seats?

It would depend on timeframe and total cost but I am definitly interested.

    WhiteNight Littering and...

When i did my interior with the leatherette, i ordered 5m2. That was enough with spare w a few messups for all the interior trim pannels. The seats were seperate, but i wouldnt want to budget less than 3m2 per seat. But that was $40/m2 so it didnt matter a great deal if you screwed up a bit and needed to start one fresh.

This stuff looks pure class. Im tempted to redo mine. :)

    1m = 1.09 yards

How many metres would I need to do the whole interior on a 2 seater, minus the seats? 3m?

Always loved that stuff, but unfortunantly can't justify that kind of money right now.
Might have to make do with just getting an alcantara steering wheel lol.

Could you use this on a steering wheel and handbrake etc or would it wear too quickly?

Tweed takes up an area of roughly 7' x 45", for 2 seater. This is a little over 3 sq yards. I'm not sure in what sizes the Alcantara is actually sold in however. The booklet lists width as >=142cms, so thats something i will have to ask the supplier.

    Seats, dunno. Stop asking me.

Sure can. Here is a Porsche GT3 Alcantara steering wheel.

I believe perforated is only available on the colours listed.

Agreed. I don't like to do things by halves. :zlove:

They are quite far down the list of things to do. I'm not even sure they are aggressive enough for my taste. So I have neither a source, nor a price on these.

I think doing the whole dash is a bit much, gives it a loungeroom feel or something but the steering wheel looks NICE!!!
