    Hi All,
I'm getting pretty serious with manufacturing new PZP (Perth Z Performance) products and I'm considering making a batch of 3" Stainless Steel down pipes... I am trying to gain interest as I don't want to make 20 sets of dump pipes and end up selling 2 ;)

Anyway, I am trying to work out if I should produce these for the stock (4bolt) turbos or aftermarket (5bolt) turbos. They will be Stainless Steel, TIG welded and similar in design to the picture below.

Please post if I'm wasting my time, or vote for a combination of 2.5", 3", 4 bolt, 5 bolt.

    Cheers!

I can't really give people an acurate time frame yet but probably around Feb/March.

I'm also interested depending on pricing..

I've always wanted to know what the best setup is on stock turbos (2.5" or 3").
And what dump pipes are the best? as in tune agent, CES etc...?

Are the PZP ones comparable to these or better?

    Cheers. :)

    Now you think of it!

I think you are better of catering for the five bolt dump as there isn't as many on the market. As for split of open, what is suppose to be better to aid quicker boost?
How about screamer pipes? :p  :zlove:

well when i have some samples made, i'll definately get some flow tests done... should be interesting to see the results. I'd say they will be the best flowing ones around ;)

Only time and something on paper will tell!

hahah sorry simmo! i'll probably cater for both 5 and 4 bolt, but want to work out which ones i should produce first...

    hmm...

suppose 2.5 inch would flow best for stock turbo... 2.5 inch is closer to the exhaust exit out of the turbo so less turbulence...

i have been looking at the UAS ones, but they are wayyy to pricey at approx 450 ea?

    WD zed rated!!!

PS not sure about the tuneagents, it looks like there will be a heap of turbulence where the pipes meet...

Well done Z rated first the radiators now custom dump pipes you truly are a man of vision and foresight.

I would go a set of 2.5 inch split flange for stock turbos (4 bolt) then probably go a 3 inch (5 bolt aftermarket) split flange and even a 3inch oval mouth for larger HP cars. These are deemd to flow better for higher flowing turbos so my research indicates.

I would be defiantley up for a set to suit my build thats for sure.

Spot on R33k I have the Megan racing incarnation of these mentioned pipes and they are okay for low boost but as soon as the stock wastegates start to bleed boost I am certain the gases would bottle neck at the meeting point and strangle the outlet flow somewhat. Mine seem fine at 10 - 12 psi but hit 18 odd and it feels strangled if that makes sense.

cheers for the compliments fellas! it looks as if i'd product a 2.5" for the 4 bolt (stock) and a 3" for the aftermarket (5 bolt).

    time will tell!

now to make the prototypes... :D

    hmmm tempting

ide be interested in the 2.5" with 4 Bolt flange for Stock Turbo setup :D

time frame of Feb/March is no probs for me

do u have a rough estimate of price??

    cheerZ :D

I am interested in a set in the new year. I already have a 2.5? exhaust so ill probably go for the 2.5? and 4bolt

Just a quick question tho will these go from the turbos to the cats or will I need to have a peace added in?

  16. tom@pzp

    tom@pzp www.pzp.com.au

The dumps will be designed to mate up to the cats...

The UAS ones you're talking about are made by CES

    here in Brisbane..

I always thought the more flow, the more power for turbo setups. So does anyone know what the power difference is between the 4 bolt 2.5" and 3" CES dumps? I think John (Unique Zed runs these CES pipes as well?)

I am fairly sure the CES ones (sold by UAS as well) are the best dumps available. I think they mate straight up to the cats too (incl. engine pipes).
There is also option to HPC. That works out as a DAMN EXPENSIVE setup just for stock turbos!! Maybe might be cheaper to get a GB from CES? Just a thought :)

If you're gonna fabricate a set up though you want to make sure you're copying the best pipes available so would be good to look into it more dont you think?

  18. tom@pzp

    tom@pzp www.pzp.com.au

Just copying the CES pipes isn't really a good idea IMO... quite unethical.

I haven't finished my design yet and i'm not getting these made just so everyone can get cheap pipes for a once off group buy... I am making these so I can carry them in my own product line up and at a reasonable price.

There are also alternative ceramic coatings I will offer which is a hell of a lot cheaper than HPC and still as effective if not more...

    Cheers

Yeah I agree, 'copying' is not the right thing to do..

But isn't this what you're basically doing. And whose PZP?

  20. tom@pzp

    tom@pzp www.pzp.com.au

I wont be copying their dumps however the design will be a spilt flange dump pipe.... no patent by CES.

PZP = Perth Z Performance, my business which is in its early stages....
