When you come to a stop, meaning when you apply the brake. That's the same issue you had a few months back The car would stall when applying the brake. So unless you fixed that issue. I wouldn't be saying the mechanic did bad. Rather it's the original problem you had. You're only noticing it because you're driving it more?
In terms of misfiring etc, be sure he actually connected up the coil pack connectors in the right order. Could also be a vacuum leak somewhere and/or one of the vacuum lines connected up wrong. Lastly since the plenum came off, maybe the mechanic missed a earth from the loom.
I was thinking that aswell but even when i take my foot of the accelerator and role it does that same thing
The coils did have numbers on them but i don't think he bothered putting them in order but can not putting the coils in order cause the car to stall and misfire?
Stalling when stopping can be the IAA/AAC. Tech section under Idle Air Adjusting (IAA) Unit Replacement. Good luck! Ads
You can't lodge a claim if you haven't paid for the work. Seems strange that the mechanic would let you take the car prior to payment.
so whats happening with this, is it running yet , the advice some of the boys have given you is dead on , try all those things and , i would be giving it a boost check as well , the air leak you mention might be coming from the EGR , or one of the back injectors. if its the injector on egr , the car should not stall either way does the car rev nicely over 3 k 4 k ?
I don't know how to say this without coming across as a dick or rude so guys just read this carefully. I inspected this car a few months ago. With similar issues, I gave the owner information much like everyone's described plus a few more things like timing ect. But when you drive the car, and apply the brake it stalls due to the vacuum tank having a leak or in the diaphragm. In saying that IT COULD very well be a vacuum leak from somewhere else. Check the brake booster area 1st there is checks you can do. Like Alex said, a vacuum leak/boost tester will work (even tho it's n/a yes those testers do work, where you have vacuum you also have boost. My point is, the information being provided is slightly miss leading and people are jumping to conclusions. This issue needs to be resolved before any other diagnosis takes place. Correct diagnosis is critical rather than swapping parts or just replacing them under assumption.
I was thinking it was the brake booster causing all of it but i had a guy come to my house he has a zed down the street he came a fixed the problem he said the 2 injectors wont working cause the age of the loom but he played around with it and now the cars working fine again he said your car was running on 4 cylinders so when he was pulling the coil pack connectors off one by one he found 2 weren't working
See that would fix the miss firing issue but not the stalling issue. Have you road tested it and proven that the car is all good? Apply the brake a few times and see what happens?
Ah the 'ol diagnosis and repair over the internet with trying to interpret all the comments, opinions, and assumptions. Mmmmmmm. I don't eat popcorn but I might get me some
