WA Engine pull Tech day

Well after a weekend like this I think I will need about 3 weeks to recover.
OK, Where to start, well we all started on the cars at about midday yesterday and all went well. We ended up getting Kabirs car done ( hicas removal ), Roves car ( radio ) Daves car ( hand brake, well sort of ) and the big job My car ( engine and gearbox pull ). Then we drank copious amounts of alcohol, finnished at about 2.30 - 3am. Big mention of how bad an influence Simmo and Rosco are.
Today Dave came back just after Simmo and Aiden left and eventually motivated me enough to start the engine pull on the NA, which we finnished at about 3 - 4pm this arvo.
Big big big thanks to all for their help and making this weekend a complete success and especially Dave for coming back today and getting me motivated.
I dont have any photos of the weekend myself but Adam took heaps and I hope will be posting them up soon.

 

Thanks to andy for having the day... and putting up with those of us too drunk to leave... was great fun

will be interesting to see the photos and video... come on adam you have had all day already

 

Nice day too for the tech day!! NOT.. lol

Was good as we got things done that's the main thing. Thanks to andy and dave to help me out with my earthing problem. Its all good now.

Can't thank enough to those who helped me out. It was a hell job. Lots of screaming and yelling. Special thanks goes to Simmo, Rosco, Aidan, Adam and Andy who was a nonstop motivated Z owner. I couldn't come home without their help. Great to meet Simmo for the first time. He knows what he was doing. Though I had power steering fluid all over my hair, but I was happy at the end to finish the job. Went today to say Thank You again but all of them left early, WTF. and heard what Simmo did? I will leave that to Simmo to have better explanation and we should all force him to do a cost recovery. And everyone must beware of Simmo lube which is hard to take off.

it was a great fun and I wish I could stay more longer.

Hope next one will be more fun.
And thanks to Andy family to organise this day and clean up all the mess that we made.

hey all, well what a day/night that was, i was nursing a fairly reasonable hangover this morning, nothing to drastic but still it was there hehe...........

glad to see the amoiunt of work that got done, 2 engine pulls is a bloody good start !!!! there is often lots of "attempts" at geting work done on techdays, without much actually getting done but we were quite productive this time round:zlove:

kabir, did you find your car was a little more responsive after replacing that damaged accordian pipe, or no real change? hope it fixed it, it was a prick of a thing to get back on aye lol!!

 

yes got back 2 psi more boost and idle much better, little more fast quick pickup. and the steering is lot nicer and light which was the reason to get NA pump conversion. Thanks for your sharp observation which was really great to find the damaged accordian pipe. Otherwise I may have to wait until engine pull....
Now it is all good. Thanks again...

 

no dramas, that would have been costing you a fair bit of power and absolutely screwing your fuel economy, so fixing was a win win situation.....

Wish I could have made it in the end, but had a whole ream of stuff to do and couldn't make it down on either day I did go and see Transformers 2 which sorta made up for it and I got to pull bits of Chilledpain's wreck (so easy to remove the dash we no windscreen there ).

Simmo and Rosco a bad influence on the booze? Never!! Good to see Simmo will drive down to Mandurah but still not come up to my place for a beer because Lesmurdie is too far away! :nono:

Felt sorry for you having to drive home so early, mate my hangover was considerable, yours must have been bad aswell. I made the joke that it would have been a quiet trip home for you with the radio turned right down nursing that head . we should all know better :nono:. Dave made my life hell Sunday morning by forcing me out to the shed to get more work done, but it was worth it and I am thankfull to him for it.

was going to come down but by the time i was avaliable i'd only be able to stay down there for about 30min before heading back up

They're good photos but you guys seemed to be spending more time drinking and hugging each other than working on cars. Are you sure that this was a tech day and not some sort of Zed owners love in?
