Yeah, but in this application where it's not going to be that long either way, not really. It's a lot messier though. Straight back from the balance tube, through the firewall to the gauge... can't beat that.
I doubt it would make a scrap of difference. Won't drilling extra holes in your firewall make it weaker? And less secure in the event that you do have an engine fire?
You reckon drilling an extra hole in the firewall up where everyone can see it is tidier than having a vaccum line run off into the fender?
I ran my vacuum line for the boost guage in my old TT through the big grommet that the engine look runs through on the passenger side, then up under the head unit. Probably messier than some of you perfectionists. Not like it stuck out like dogs balls, though.
Wideband & Nistune If you have Nistune go to their site they have a list of wideband O2's that work with Nistune I belief the one your looking at is compatible.
I've got one of them, still in the box waiting for me to put the car back together so I can't really help with how well it works but it looks nice, that's got to count for something.
Headlights Probably an opportune time to get those old globes replaced while you have all that room to move around. I mean seriously, who wants to try and replace those ****ers with all those intercooler pipes in the way.
Probably worth taking off the sump to give it a good degrease too, 20 year old engines can have a lot of sludge in them. You'll probably need a new gasket though
Good suggestions, dunno if I'd be taking the sump off a perfectly fine engine, asking for trouble playing around down there if you ask me. Looking into doing the power steering hard line delete at the moment.
