need some help here fellas, what engine oil would you guys recomend. i'm not sure which would be best to use, i'm thinking either Penrite or Motul, i know redline would be best, but at over 100 bucks a pop, maybe not . doing a major service this weekend, engine flush, radiator flush, radiator hose, breaks, power steering, oil filter, plugs, but the plenum pull seems a bit dawnting :unsure::sick:, i'm not sure how brave i will be feeling when i do the service. anyways, cheers fellas ash
Valvoline full synthetic 15W50...>> it's a bargain at $25 for a 5 litre container thanks to RedZedMickey. I change the oil and filter every 5000 km Cheers
Best: Amsoil and Redline i would think. Amsoil have a 40,000km change interval with their oil. I probably wouldn't run it for that long on one change but easy to 10,000 - 15,000km and when you have less oil changes the extra money for the oil makes it worth it. I know someone in perth who ran an engine for 300,000km on one oil change using Amsoil if that says anything (not a high performance car though)
I agree with AMSOIL aswell.... only have ever used that. Get it of Simon @ TTzed, AMSOIL Max:thumbsup:
I was thinking of using motul 300V but... Is it only recommended for a TT?, does anyone use it on their NA? Cheers Mike
If it's good for a TT, I'm sure it's good for a N/A Both engines are the same generation. The only difference, as I understand it is that you could space oil changes to 10k instead of 5. This is because turbos last longer with clean oil. Having said that, I still change the oil in my N/A every 5k. cheers, Peter
