    ok take a deep breath..
    here we go..

stand on the drivers side and look towards the back of the engine, now look DOWN, and look to the back of the block, theres alot of crap in the way so your really going to need to look, your going to need a torch, just keep looking, its on a small sorta slant aswell, and it may be corroded,

note the plenum is off for that pic, but i hope that helps

When I had to find mine for rego

could not read the figures for the oil and dirt and crap on it. Easiest way to clean it, cut down a tooth brush just long enough so you can grab it with thumb and index finger. Soak it in degreaser (just the cheap stuff in a can) and reach down there, when you can feel that little ledge give it a scrub. Shine the torch down there and you will see it comes up nice and silver.

    Take the rocker covers off?

Have you already removed the upper plenum cause that's the only way you are going to get them off. If you look closely at the photo, removing the rocker covers will not make it any easier to see, plenum yes but not rocker covers.

When your engine is cold, stick your hand down there so you can feel where it is, then you will know where to look but as I mentioned earlier, if it is covered in crap you won't be able to see it anyway which is more likely why you can not find it now.

you dont need to move anything, its easy your just not looking hard enough..

do as i said, look from the DRIVERS side panel and pop ya head down roughly where the corner of the back of the plenum is and look down on an angle.. ull see it.. if you dont, spend an hour, im sure you'll find it eventually, dont be so lazy

    Engine number

Lift your bonnet up to the second fixing notch, stick your head as far back as you can over the drivers side head push the wires out of the way. torch straight down and there it is.

Don't need to put the stand in the second notch Chris
