Engine light is flicking on and off even with the engine off.
Started this morning, I'm guessing it's an electrical issue.
The motor was rebuilt a couple of months ago.
Temp has never creeped past halfway and still doesn't even with the light on.

I'm a bit worried to drive the car so I'm stuck at work

    All fluids are full

Can someone please help me out

    Thanks

    Just drive it home.
Worst case scenario is it will drive in limp home mode.
When you get home check ECU codes.
Or if possible check for ECU codes before you start your journey.

My guess is wiring short. I had issues with the engine light that was caused by a slightly damaged O2 sensor during engine install.

    Edit, showed no fault codes.

Thanks just spoke to my mechanic ( 90TTZ ) and will check codes tonight.
Car is purring like kitten so nothing to worry about

    I'll post my findings later

    Cat temperature sensor.

Your car is possibly running rich.

This light is not linked to the ecu; its triggered by sensors in the catalytic converters.

Cat sensors where cut off years ago by previous owners
I have never put them in as my new exhaust didn't have the bung for them.

But why is it only playing up now ? I know you can't really answer that but you know what I mean

Although I did bottom out this morning an a rather steep drive way. That might have nudged something

The unit that controls the light is just under the centre console near the mirror switches if you want to finish removing it and stop the light coming on.

That's funny because I was just playing around in there when I was sizing up a custom USB port
