Engine Idle very low and lumping like a top fueller

    Hi guys

Over the last week or so my TT's idle has dropped lower and lower, and its started to sound like I'm running huge cams, with a loping idle. When its cold its very hesitant, but once it warms up it drives fine, but still idles very oddly. I'v played around with the injector connectors, which seems to make no difference, and fiddled with the AFM, still to no avail.

    Any ideas?

Check to see if your 'LIGHTS' warning light is dimly lit when it's idling. If it is then it's your Eng Cont. (Engine Control) fuse. Check it anyway.

Mine done the same thing and I found the fuel balance bar was loose and leaking boost. Losing boost will do that and it will run at higher revs well.
I'm one of the "idiots" so be careful with my suggestions!

also try pulling each of the coil pack plugs see if you have dropped a cylinder or more, this can also be done with the power balance test available on the various conzults etc. if the engine slows even more the cylinder is working correctly, however if it does not change at all when the coilpack is disconnected there is a fault somewhere. to do with that cylinder. the faults can be anything from no spark to no fuel and ending with no compression. but at least identify or rule out a dead cylinder as a start. also the suggestion of vacuum/boost leaks is also a good one to follow up.
