I have a recently acquired 92 j-spec z32 in near 100% stock condition just terrible paint. Was going through it cleaning and doing things in the engine bay and I noticed two things I would like identified. Wondering what this is and if there is meant to be anything plumbed up to it. And where is this plug meant to be attached to couldn't seem to find anything around it at all. Cheers Stoner
The first picture is a bleed point for your clutch, and that's how it looks from factory. You can delete it by getting a one-piece clutch line. The second picture is a connector (obviously haha) that i'm assuming your particular model doesn't use, as they all have the same harness. Most likely for cruise control or some other option you don't have. If the car is running fine without it plugged in, don't stress. EDIT: Just done my homework and cruise control plugs in right in front of the brake booster. Id say that's the culprit.
Read here: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-282008.html Two manual NA's with the provisions for cruise control in their wiring harnesses. My factory manual NA has this same plug too. Im not saying all have it, but some clearly do.
The "provision in the harness" isn't complete. The plug next to the ECU will be there, as will the pod wiring but the loom from drivers footwell fuse box to the solenoid in the bay must be run manually. It's in the cruise control retrofit article in the tech section.
Cheers guys that answers my questions. There car doesn't have cruise control never appears to have and is running fine got near every other option bar that one and I may look at installing cruise as it would be handy on long freeway drives
