hey guys im sorta new to 300's i bought one today with a few electrical problems that i have been unable to fix as of yet and i was wondering if someone on the forums might have some insight to my problems

    ok here goes its a 1990 N/A 300 2+2 australian delivered model

    now the problems are

    1. there are no dash lights
    2. there are no driving lights... the ones next to the brake lights
    3. the fog lights don't work
    4. when i turn the headlights on i only seam to get high beams i carnt seam to get low beams even if i flick the leaver

now im unable to check the fuses as the panel which covers the fuses is missing so i dont have the legend that is on the back of the cover so i dont know what fuse does what and i have had the time yet to pull ever fuse out one by one and see if any are blown

if someone could possibly post a picture of the cover for the fuse box or possibly sell me one if they have a spare it would be much appriciated

Welcome to the forum yoda2026. It sounds like you have blown a fuse and your zeds
gone into a safety mode. Check the tech section for the fuse layout and other possible solutions.

what u need is a test light... a 12V test light.. earth it out and go on both sides of all ur fuses.. if one side lights up and the other doesnt u know u have a blown fuse.. if neither side lights up its not active.. (most of these come on when u put ur car on ignition)

The fuse or circuit that is not working is the "clear lens" fuse on the top row.
When this circuit is open, you get
    • no clearance lamps(Parkers)
    • no tail lights
    • no numberplate light
    • no dashboard illumination
    • no low beams (Highs come on for safety)
    • I believe it stops your fogs too
Replace the fuse if blown (it likely will be). If fuse blows again, check where your number plate light wiring passes through to the outside of the car, it might be shorting there (most common cause).

This is covered many times, you may recover more useful information by using the search facility ;)
