So I just followed the power seat repair on Twin turbo.net

    Here http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/main/view/1039028/fix-your-power-seat-switch.html

With great success so and thought if it might assist anyone if have photos I took during the process.

*now my seat worked however the rear of the seat base would no longer travel up, and the back reset would no longer move forward without assistance. These 2 things work perfectly now.

My only recommendation/variations from the Tech article on twin turbo.net might be the colour of the towel (as I frequently lost sight of parts sitting right on it) However as stated in the other Doco the towel is a must for this.

    1. After removing the seat from the car, taking it inside and setting it on a towel on the floor. I remove the screws from the switch cover and switch and popped the switch apart slowly. Below is what I was left with

Note that some of the plastic pins and springs stayed in the black part of the switch cover, I removed these and left all the loose bits in a pile.

    2. Carefully remove the rocker parts from the white part of the switch base and give them a good clean (the pitting on my contacts appear to be all on the white plastic piece and not on the rocker contacts) these I cleaned up with my fingers and some toothpaste as my mild abrasive

    4. Cleaning the contacts on the base piece took more work due to the pitting. I ended up using a nail file to remove the pitting (what I had available to me at the time) I would recommended using a lighter/finer abrasive to remove the pitting.

    5. To re assemble place the rockers back on the white switch base the same as they were removed. if necessary you can give the (rockers receiver?!) a little squeeze with some needle nose pliers I did this on a few of the really loose ones, be careful not to overdo it they should stay retained but still move freely.

    6. Now you're ready to re assemble. With a small amount of grease secure the balls in the white switch base

    7. Using needle nose pliers carefully replace the springs and pins (never even accidentally squeeze the springs...) the larger 2 springs go in the center.

    8. Now I had to do this bit a couple of times, slowly flip the white switch base and confirm balls remain in the grease whilst upside down. confirm the orientation of the black switch face in (it only installs 1 way the tabs on either end are of different lengths) now you?re ready to put them together, when joining the pair ensure the base is completely upside down and the switch toggles are pointed directly to the floor. Now evenly and firmly clip the two together.

    9. Test toggle operation, if the switches auto center and move in all directions with equal resistance you've should be ready to test in the car

    Hopefully this helps someone
