I've seen these on every second US Z and I love them! Does anyone know if they are available for Jap/Aus spec readings??
They were, and a large number of members got badly screwed. Basically, they are unreadable in daylight, and a complete waste time and effort.
Actually those ones are nice albeit in mph whatever that means but yes the I-dials ones were a load of shit and a complete ripoff DO NOT BUY IDIALS THEY ARE SHIT!!! BTW this is not subject to any defamation laws in the Commonwealth of Australia as it it TRUE not just my opinion. cheers Geoff
Confused  So are the idials no good or those first ones I posted the pic of???? Which ones do people recommend?
The picture you posted looks good THEY ARE NOT I-DIALS I-Dials were a dodgy group buy done maybe two years ago, just do a search and you shall find a long history. Lots of places such as Autojoy and other shops sell the ones you have shown a picture of and they look okay except they are in Miles per hour methinks. I should point out that the I-Dials looked awesome at night but were as useless as an ashtray on a motocycle during the day. cheers Geoff
Plenty off people have idails they look much better than the el gages, if anyone had problems with them, it was proberly because they butchered the install, you also need a signal generator to calerbrate them properly.
Re: Confused  I contacted www.elguages.com some time ago, and they were not interested in making any.
That is a load of crap. The I-Dials were substandard rubbish. They had huge problems with the lamination of the finished product, which resulted in blisters around every numeral and/or marking on the instrument face. This made them reflective in daylight, and just about useless except at night. It would be a good idea to know what you're talking about, before making such sweeping and inaccurate statements. Many people sent them back for replacement and the substitute items were no better in the majority of cases. Installation played no part in the problem.
I kept mine and got 2 sets of replacements. Left them in the car purely bas ed on the fact that no other dials come close to looking as good at night as these do. During the day they aren't THAT bad, some were worse than others, and also the angle of light makes it unreadable sometimes but most of the time they are fine. If you can't tell where 60, 70, 80, 100 are on your cluster then something is wrong with your eyes regardless of if you can see the numbers or not.
El idials have been instaled in many different cars GTI's GTR ect, If you cant see them during daylight hours, its time you had your eyes checked! My statement is not inaccurate! based on what ive seen. Fact is these are the best looking gages ive seen at night bar none.
Red or Blue LED and Gauge Rings I got 4 X Red LED in my dials but the photo will not show how sensational it is. What a shame. $55 for the rings and $18 for LED from Bright Light Auto Parts.
Gosh am I going insane??? Chili is right Im afraid Talk to anyone that got these from the group buy. I-dials specifically, not any other brand. Almost every single person who bought them found them unuseable. Completely unable to be read during the day due to reflection from the lifting laminate. My set was quite good by comparison but still a PITA. Look great at night so I kept them
I've had my idials in for a long time now, and... I honestly don't have the same reservations now as I did before I put them in. They look rad at night, and I don't have any trouble reading them in the day time either.
And your point is?......... Effectively yours are just as bad as everyone elses (judging by the above quote), but you just felt the need to disagree with my post, correct?:unsure:
Austalia IS the land of nocturnal animals.......... but some of us do move around during daylight. You may be lucky enough to have a daytime car, and a night time one, most people don't.
What ? can't speak to me cause i didn't buy them off the GB Maybe people running GB's should insist on a sample product first, then will pay for all products if and when they are found trouble free, cause some how we alwasy cop the shtty left over products or something??? I am yet to buy a product off a GB that i am happy with, latest example the bunch of scratched up air guides we got, now i have to see John to see if i can be added to the list for a proper packaged one, just cause of a few gorge marks, what was the producer thinking, ahhh right he wasn't ??? When i was in QLD i saw these "idials" at an auto store. Told the guy i wasn't interested as calibration would cost 10times as much as the product... he said "sht, forgot about calibration" and sold me them for about 1/5th the cost, so i was like ehhh might sell them on ??? Since then Z-ster has performed a minor miracle calibrating the speedo and i am exstatic with the job, had them on/in for almost 2 yrs now, look fabulous and work a damn treat. I DON'T RECOMEND them to anyone else, instal was brain surgery and i don't want anyone else to have dials like mine:LOL: PS You have about 1mm of error tolorance on instal. That is if you don't have hands of a surgen, you will trash you cluster big time and will hate yourself for ruining a perfectly good speedo cluster. If you have a spare or broken speedo cluster lying around, practise instal would be invaluable knowledge
