they look brown/grey ish when i see them while plugged in (can't unplug and don't wanna break it)

Have you tried using TECU to rip your fuel/timing maps? Search TECU and there should be a link to a download for it. I used it to rip my bin file.
And what error does datascan give you when you try and rip the bin file?
Oh and not 100% sure but looks like it's a stock ecu that's been chipped and tuned. But someone else could probably confirm that.

when i try to rip/dump starts to count up and stops at 7
then sorta freezes it, need to turn car off then kill it
happy its socketed :) can easily change it, i hope
i'll try that proggy you stated. (TECU)

    Yep a retuned stocky

the number 23 shows it's an original 5spd manual nissan ECU, the chip is probably like most other Jap a/m tunes where the timing is very advanced, no speed limiter and rev limiter of 12,000rpm

Would be good to dump a bin file and have it checked out for peice of mind though.

i didn't run the map trace on datascan but on TECU it worked fine. Just remember it takes a while for the bin file to be ripped from your ecu...i think it took about 15 mins or so. the button you click in TECU to rip the bin file will change (different colour or icon, can't remember exactly) when you click it to start ripping the file and then once it's done it'll change back

    i think so.

23 is for the TT Manual tune.
22 is for the TTAuto tune. (unless i get them mixed up of course ;))

Waste of time trying to dump with Datascan, it will not work! TECU is the only one I have had 100% success with. Your injectors sound like stockies to me.
