This is THE alternative to Plasti Dip. EBC Liquid Wrap is a spray on peel off automotive paint, that allows anyone to change the colour of their car or wheels without the stress of committing to a permanent change. We've just launched an IndieGoGo campaign with pre launch deals. Go check out the specials, and watch a time lapse of me changing the colour of my Toyota Chaser in the driveway, to get the finish you see above. http://igg.me/at/evolved-body-coatings/x/2325792 IndieGogo is just like Kickstarter, but unlike Kickstarter if we don't meet the goal you still get your products. What's the goal for this campaign? We want to create a headquarters on the Sunshine Coast, much like the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm in Bali, or Zen Garage in Sydney. A temple for creativity and car culture, where enthusiasts can get together and drop in read books or magazines on the couch, test their skills on Forza or Gran Turismo, peruse the EBC retail shop, or even test out the Liquid Wrap and Vinyl Wraps on offer. We're also planning on holding plenty of events and DIY demos.
great product, it will be nice to be able to source this stuff at a more attractive price. read through your indiegogo page and my general feeling is it is too risky to contribute to something that may not exist when the funding campaign is finished I'm sure I wouldn't be the only person with these thoughts. It might be beneficial to apply some reassurance (something more substantial than some virtual identities) which may help the campaign move along. My question for the day: why have you chosen to use indiegogo as opposed to just starting a business If the campaign fails what will you do business wise appreciated
The answer to number 1 is pretty simple... From my quick glance at this campaign and Indiegogo (haven't seen the site before, I think it's great!), it's obvious why people use it as opposed to "just starting a business". It's a way to raise venture capital when the funds aren't available.
I'm also dubious.. how does it work? for $410 for the whole kit that I can do myself? I'm keen! "Estimated delivery April 2013".. "I am not buying anything I am contributung and getting a perk" etc. is making me quite sceptical?? Whats the go? Do I definitely get this stuff delivered to me for $410 or only if they raise enough money or something??
Hey Lovemyzed. Thanks for the feedback, I understand where you're coming from and I definitely agree that a lot of people have the same misconception. It does seem that using IndieGogo hasgiven the impression this is a concept rather than a genuine product, and actually created a bit of a barrier. The product DOES exist, it WILL go ahead regardless of the IG campaign result, and the official launch date is May 1 2013 We choose to use Indiegogo in the hopes that we might be able to generate some more collateral to put towards our ideal premises, create some brand awareness and it would also allow us to gauge how much stock we needed to hold, all while we finish off our e-commerce site, marketing and prepare for the launch proper. I guess another part of it is probably that I'm just really eager to get the product out there. I'm so excited and passionate about this stuff myself, and there's been a lot of testing and development involved, now I want to share it with everyone. The 30k goal is a direct reflection of the cost of the warehouse we wish to lease: http://www.realcommercial.com.au/property-industrial+warehouse-qld-caloundra-5785592 I have a vision of not just a workshop or a retail shop, but a place where car enthusiasts can gather and talk about their common interest, hold some DIY sessions and BBQ's, play some Forza and just chill out. Much like Zen Garage down in Sydney. So at the end of the day, if we don't meet our IndieGoGo goal, or even come close, we'll end up in a small 150sq shed instead of a big 350sq at least in the interim. I hope that alleviates some concerns. Cheers, Heath
Hey Adamness, Unfortunately it automatically puts in "Estimated Delivery", even though I put in a definite date of April 28. Reaching the goal on Indiegogo will not affect the business or product moving forward. It is just to help us raise venture capital to put towards our "dream" business premises. The brand launch is May 1, so you can pick up the product on the brand site after the IG campaign has run it's course. It's www.evolvedcoatings.com.au, if you're more comfortable. You won't get it at the early bird rates, but I'll offer Aus300zx members 10% off RRP. Cheers, Heath
I'd like to do my corolla in this, how long is the early bird promo going to last for? Also is it glossy or it is just Matte and you have to mix the gloss in? I'd like to get the satin black full car kit.
The early bird promo is only for the Indiegogo campaign and limited to the first 50 purchases. There is a clear top coat to add extra gloss. The more coats you add the glossier it will look. Satin black finish doesn't require the clear.
Spot on. It also allows people to raise venture capital without investors. Not big in Australia though which is why I think there is a lot of uncertainty.
Just like normal Just hand wash with regular car wash as per usual. Normal car care. You can run it through a car wash, but just need to give it a couple of weeks after installing to make sure it has fully cured.
Hey Heath thanks for the response, answered my question perfectly. So basically then for the punter, placing an *order* on the IndieGogo side of things is just an easy way of getting a nice little discount for very limited risk. I got to admit the product has me pretty excited:thumbup: thanks again malcolm
No worries, Malcolm Speaking only for our Indiegogo campaign, there is no risk of not receiving the product, all orders will be dispatched on April 29th. But, general rule of thumb with Indiegogo, if it's a "flexible" campaign, they don't need to reach the goal, they're making a commitment to delivering on the contributions/concept either way. On the other side of the coin, if it's a fixed campaign, you're not at risk of loosing any money anyway. They only get your money if your campaign reaches its goal. Alright well I'm game, just ordered a kit. Bit suprised this hasn't taken off more actually. Might've missed something, but where do I specify what colour I want? It didn't ask me anywhere when I went through on the Indiegogo site?
Once you apply this, what is the risk to the underlying paint if you decide to remove it after say 6mths, 1yr, 2yrs, 5yrs? I ask this with experience with vinyl stickers on my racecars, the longer the stickers have been on there, the more likely they will want to take paint with them when you remove them. And what is the risk of rust forming under the plastic coating?
Hey Shane, Good questions. This is not adhesive based, unlike vinyl wrap, so it's not going to take paint off, unless of course the paint/clear is already damaged . The same goes for rust, it will protect from rust, salt and algae, but if it is already present it wont stop it.
