QLD Dyno Day @Hi Power Racing - 14th March 2010

    hey guys looking at the list it is pretty full.. im pretty sure we can extend the slots to 35 People.. if we can get 30 people.. it might be worthwhile for me to get trophies made up and we can have it as an annual event..

    just some ideas.. let me know how i can try to make this dyno day better and work out.. always ready to help :p

    Aaah sweet. I'm just chasing KW+Nm vs RPM for the 3 runs so that sounds good. Just wanted to make sure as at my last dyno place we were only given HP+'tractive effort' which doesn't mean much to me :p

    Is it possible to get some kind of knock detection hooked up for my runs? I want to be able to set my knock sensor sensitivity for road tuning... I'll prob have a couple of tunes saved and swap between each with the click of a button on nistune if allowed...

    I set my knock sensor up by installing a super safe map into nistune (just took out 10 deg timing off the whole map plus ran low boost) then took car for a hard run increasing the sensitivity as far as possible without showing any knock. Then just re-apply original map.

    Thats pretty much what I have done too but I find the knocklite still too sensitive... I'd really like someting to compare it too :)

    Filming dyno runs

    When we had our dyno runs at Wacol a few years ago, they were fine with me filming my Z on the dyno (videocamera on a tripod). Can you please check if that will be cool with Ivan?

    I can cover still shots. ;) My exhaust should make a difference Matt, it's only 3/4's complete. I have some 3" piping in the garage I might get bent up, flanged and fitted without mufflers and see how bad the existing restriction is. Should sound pretty wild! :p

    I too have made my tune more safe as compared to the Wide band O2's display. We'll have to see how much power I've sacrificed as a result :)
