Hmmm... I've just had this in my mind but really haven't studied this (not the smartest thing to do).

I just thought that the Dyno run and tune is the only way to either get your engine running smooth and/or get some good numbers. Then I thought UAS would be a good place to go... Plus as I said make a cruise out of it and meet some NSW members...

Cam if you that keen on tuning your zed, get Toshi to come down & he can tune it properly & can even take it to a dyno if needed...much cheaper than driving all the way up there & spending hundreds of dollars on fuel & then accomodation & food & then pay for the tune, dyno run & work done by UAS...like Dean & a few others mentioned, have a look at Chequered Tuning as a few local zedders have used them including Sandeep if i remember correctly

If you really want to cruise that far then good luck lol as you wouldnt get many or any others to come along as its a fair drive & it will be a very expensive trip

I'd be a bit hesitant using Toshi, would be more confident with a dyno tune if I were you.

Jamie may i ask why would you be hesitant about Toshi? I know of atleast Mick & Renee who got their zeds tuned by him & i have only heard good things from them...isnt a road tune better than a dyno tune for atleast the first 3 gears?

I'm all ears guys... I feel like it needs a Dyno run so I basically know where she stands these days, and go from there. If it needs some sort of ECU tune it can all be done there and right? And then go for another run to see any improvements? As always I'm aiming for factory health I guess.... Or.... I may do some engine work. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for a strong NA.

    Abe,

It's very much a matter of preference. I've got a mate who's a tuner and he's told me how he's seen cars that have been tuned by Toshi. He wasn't too impressed with it, I agree that a road tune would be more useful for the first 3 gears. That's the thing, he tunes in a completely different gear than what the dyno tuners do. Would love to do a test and see who gets the best results, will see how money permits when it comes time for me to tune my Z.

It doesn't need a dyno run, and even if it did, a simple dyno run can be done anywhere, not halfway across the country...

Nick your asking that question to the guy that still fights & believes in keeping egr in his zed just because it came like that from factory :p

I have heard a few stories of people being happy with toshi tunes until they put it on a dyno and saw the power curve or afr all over the shop.

Realistically, for Cams car, it'd be fine, but in a modified tt, i'd be getting a proper dyno tune done.

Cheers for that. I havnt heard of that. Maybe get a road tune for the first 3 gears & use the dyno to fix up everything is the best option?

Haha you guys need to stop drinking the kool aid.

If you want a good runs find somebody local who had a Dyno and experience with your ECU.

    Forget the smoke and mirrors.
