    just picked up a bunch of dvd's and im getting a DVD burner so just wondering what are the best types of software out their on the market to burn
    ip the cd's.
    Im looking for software that bypasses all security on dvd's.
    PS: if dvd burning software doesnt allow me to bypass dvd security then where can i go to get some patches to do so
    thanks in advance :)

    Sorry Rosario, I got a Q as well...>

    Can you rip DVD's to your computer, then Burn them to ordinary CD's therefore turning it into a VCD? Is there any software for that?

    thats simple use nero

    you dont need any other program but Nero. Just go
    >compile new cd
    >other format
    >Vcd
    >then click and drag the file
    >in the new cd they will make those shitty folders that all vcd have dont mess with them
    >it may say to you nero can not burn this file or something like that, just click convert.

    Finally i am of some use to the forums

    Yay finally i can answer a few questions rather than always asking :p Ok firstly you cant burn a dvd movie to a blank dvd disc this is because dvd moves are burnt onto special "dual layer" discs and they can hold around 8gb of data. we can only buy 4.7gb discs so thats out of the question. And IMHO dont buy a dvd burner to burn dvd movies that you can buy/hire because we are unable to do that yet, buy a dvd burner if you want to rip a dvd then burn it onto a dvd disc and have an insane quality movie, or youwant to do home movies etc.so that leaves us with ripping and encoding the dvd movie so you can put it onto a 700bm cd, I have a good program that will rip then encode the movie and its very easy to use it will encode it into Divx which i must say ist he best form of compression after the pricess is done you can burn it onto a cd of your desired size 650-700mb (you will only be able to watch them on your computer though) you can get the program from here..http://www.bheller.com/file/Rippackv3beta.exe now for those who want to go that extra bit longer and want them to be able to watch them on a dvd player you will need this program to encode it into a vcd format (mpeg) http://www.mnsi.net/~jschlic1/rq4dl/avi2vcd_ver1_4_2.zipthen after you have encoded the movie you can use this program to burn them onto a cd (it has options like setting chapters etc but its a multi purpose vcd burning program) just click on the VcdEasy v1.1.5http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Downloads
    and thats it!! im sorry if i have confused the crap out of you but if anyone has any questions regarding this i'm sure i could help you out on this topic just post or email me about it :D

    got a few mroe Q}

    Thanks for all the info, so far ive also been doing a lot of reaserch and found this:
    If you dont have a dvd burner, but you have a cd rom burner then it takes a while to do all this as you have to ripe the cd which takes 8 hours and longer but if you have a DVD burner apparently its pretty easy or so i hear.
    All i need to do is decypt the DVD to bypass the security system on the DVD and burn it.
    Aparently you can by Dual layer Blank DVD-R's in australia, although i dont know if that means i can copy dvd's from the video store?
    Can anyone confirm this for me and elaborate a bit more.
    Cheers :)

    Re: got a few more Q}

    Ok what you need to rip a DVD is a DVD drive(not a DVD burner)so you can rip the DVD to your hard drive and a CD Burner so you can burn it to cd after you have encoded it.and when you say
    "All i need to do is decypt the DVD to bypass the security system on the DVD and burn it."do you mean you just want to get the actual movie off the dvd and not compress it (which is around 5-6gb). Because just gettin the movie off the dvd only takes around 10-20mins its encoding it to another format which takes a couple of hours.and where did you see these's Dual layered dvd-r's because now im interested to see how much they are?

    i will have a dvd burner

    So i won't be converting it to another format, so vcd and SVCD is out of the question takes to long to do.
    What ill be doing is putting the DVD in the burner imaging it or copying to hard drive then putting blank dvd-r in and copying the images or hard drive copy to the blank DVD-R.
    I've heard the best program for this is DVD X Copy your thoughts on this???????Also the length of the DVD which you mentioned i am yet to have an answer for. I know some people who have Dual layer DVD-R's and they can do it on 1 cd 8 gig etc.. but until they hook me up with the goods ill be using 4.7 gig. So that means ill be making 2 dvd-r's from 1, depending on original dvd size.So from here im after a few more answers on:
    DVD X COPY software - anyone ever used it and got any feedback on it??
    Can i chose what i want to copy from the original using dvd x copy software eg: can i choose to copy just the film and not the special features etc....to cut down on the DVD size.
    If i use DVD X Copy do i still need to decrypt the DVD to bypass the security.
    Last but not least: How long all up does the dvd to dvd-r process take ive been told with a fast pc and good dvd burner 30 min??
