    has this been discussed before?

" dual spring setup consist in two springs, one small and one longer and stiffer on top of each other. The small/soft spring will absorbs all the small bumps and vibrations, and once it compress past a certain point, the stiffer spring will take over, providing a much stiffer feel when cornering or braking hard. what do you think?

any first hand experience or it is just a waste of money?

John (uniquezed) had a post about this, was quite informative

The V8 supercars use this system so it has to have some merit, but i think from johns post it was a lot of money for it to be set up properly, so it works but still a waste of money

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Its a simple way of creating a progressive spring is all.
Add a little compliance into the spring rate at wheel extension.
It gives you the flexibility to mix and match the progressive rate rather than rely on a few rates the manufactrurers might offer.
You can also vary the spring rates AND lengths to get different spring effects but id imagine youd aim to get both springs to bind at the same time..

Its been done for decades on motorcycle springs.
Now, its done with single rate springs and rising rate linkage systems which also vary the velocity of the shock shaft along with the spring rate against wheel travel.

Its nothing new and only amounts to the addition of a lighter spring and the ally collar to keep the springs aligned..
A worthwhile investment if your into suspension tweaking.
