My D/S electric window has just stopped working, It's in the up position thou so hopefully that's a good thing, anyone got a Motor for this, have checked the switch works fine, there is a black box unit in the circut not sure what it's for (Maybe a Flight Recorder):D.

Anyway was hoping to go to GOR on Sunday but will have to get a motor anyone got any ideas where I can source one.
    Cheers Dave

Hey mate, that black box is the power window amplifier, sometimes they get a dry solder joint that makes them work intermittently. Check the tech section.

This might help, you just have to cut off the extra bolt mount:

    Hi Zeo
Do you know if the Hyundai motor will bolt in.

From what I remember reading you just have to cut off the extra lug and it should bolt straight in, but I read that a long time ago so their might have been other stuff he had to do.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, Seems the problem was not the Motor but was infact the (Black Box) Transistor which is mounted behind the door trim making it very easy to replace, from what I had read using the search function it seemed that the Transistor would usually give warning of it's eventual failure by operating intermittently for a period leading up to giving up the ghost completly. This was not the case with mine, It had been working fine without a glitch and gave no warning at all that it was about to fail. So if your Window just stops operating check the Tranistor first, as it may be a simple fix.

Also the Tech Article on replacing the Electric Motor suggests that the motor can be removed from the widow mechanism by using a screwdriver bit in a pair of vice grips with a mirror whilst it's all still mounted in the door, I found this to be very difficult and found that it was much easier to just unbolt the mechanism from the window and bring the whole mechanism & motor out thru the speaker hole in the door, then disassemble it once it was out.

Please let me make it clear I'm Not disputing the Tech Article I'm just stating what worked best for me, Anyway new transitor fitted thanks to forum members aazn for the Transistor and PhilZ for his hard work.

Anyway job done and the window is working fine.
    Dave.
