    Hey Fellas!

Basically i have a small problem on my hand.. once my car had been painted etc, we decided to put the parts like handles and such back on the car. It took us a while connecting rods for the handle itself with the lock and the part which activates the acutator to open the door. Fixed the inside of the door and it locks and opens fine as well. Now just went to lock the car before from the outside on the drivers door.. and the key goes in but wont turn more then 10 degrees left or right. Can someone explain why this is so? The rods are connected up and i don't see why it shouldn't lock as you can lock it from the inside etc.. and you can lock the car from the passenger side door also.

I have some pictures also.. but it won't let me attach any so just imagine the yellow part on the inside of the door to the handle lock is connected up and is connected at the bottom.. so i don't see why it wouldn't work, also i don't think it is the ignition barrel, because we just got this handle recently and seemed fine. Let us know what you think though anyway!

    Hi
Stopping at 10/20 degrees means the key or lock is faulty and not working or the rod is stuck, perhaps you got something in the lock or key bent/ damaged whilst it was out or the rod is not connected properly - recheck?

It is likely to be a problem with the barrel given it stops after 10 degrees which means, foreign object, key is damaged or lock is worn and the barrel is not operating - hence both ways locked
Disconnect clip at back of lock from rod- then turn lock if it doesnt go further than 10mm as stated then its confirmation its the lock or key that is faulty - which means clean (soak in turps to remove foreign particles inspect and retest) or replace faulty lock or key.

    Regards

Yeah i hope its just the rod stuck or something.. because the handle was only bought recently.. so i don't see why it wouldn't work.. but yeah i think it could be the rod to the lock now i think of it.. will take it out.. get some metho and degreaser in there.. clean it out a bit then chuck the rod back on and onto a better position.. will let you guys know how it goes.
