Another one for the engine guru's out there. What's the go with this? I've been reading around, and noticed a lot of people here and on twinturbo.net drill and tap their oil galleries when rebuilding. What's the advantage in this? Apart from making it easier to get the oil plugs out in future. And assuming I decide to do it (which I probably will) what size thread to I need to tap. Also what kind of plugs would I need to buy and where's the best place to get them? Aaand do I need to use sort of sealant/locktite (or whatever) on the plugs when I put em in. Cheers, and sorry if any of these are dumb questions.
Got mine done By the crowd that did the cranksfaft and other block work. Main advantage is that it allows physical cleaning of the oilways, a lot of sediment can accumulate there.
