NSW Drift Australia championships 20TH SEP

Drift Australia's coming up in the next couple weeks, i know for certain that i'll be there, the only DA event of the year and lucky for me, its at oran park hehehe.

i know theres alot of people keen for this event, i've heard of guys coming up from South Australia just to watch so they'd have to be pretty keen.

would be good to see a couple zeds there, maybe even get a few well known cars into the show and shine, there will be prizes in the show'n'shine and i'm sure there are a few zeds here that are worthy for a prize.


so yeah, i'd love to rock up to oran park and see a zed or two parked there for display... i may even bring the ute up and rock a couch on the back, wish i did last year lol

not sure about the drift z, looking at the amount of time it actually spent on the track at driftland, i cant see any chance of it competing.

 

yeah man im there for sure, i'll be cheerin for my mate nathan weissel in the Federal tyres R32. can't wait to smash down massive amounts of bourbon while watchin some sliding.

 

Drifting is on at wakefield tomorrow boys and girls .. i think its the same champion ship..

 

Hi Everyone,
The DriftZ will be racing at Oran Park this Sunday 20th September in the Drift Australia series which is televised on Channel 9, SBS and Foxsport.

During the "Off Season" we have made quite a few changes to the 300zx Gen 3 turbo setup, which included a custom wide body kit, wider wheels, custom made chrome moly steering arms, etc. and I must say, it is the best it has ever been! I think we have finally ironed out all of the gremlin's.










We finally got the boost under control and took it to Sam's Performance so Sam could have a fiddle with the tune. He ended up making another 21rwkw for us on a safe tune and low boost - under 6psi.

New coilovers and steering arms have helped to keep it stable and controllable on the track, and the wide body kit has allowed us to widen the track with wider wheels which gives us more traction and drive out of the corners.

Our driver, Dan Mackie, has had an ankle operation, and his wife is expecting another baby 2 weeks after the race, so he hasn't had any practise in the car. With all the mods, I hope he gets used to the car pretty quickly. Just like riding a bike - I hope !!!

This year they are running a competition at the track to give away a fully prepped Drift Car, there will be 1/10th scale remote controlled Drift Cars, as well as a Car Show and Sound Off.

Tickets are available through Ticketek ($35) and are cheaper than buying them at the gates ($40).

Would love to put my Zed in the S 'n' S, but haven't had the front & rear bars or the left guard fixed yet (damaged by businesses and awaiting the slow cogs of insurance)... But I'll probably still bring 'er along for the cruise...
