hi guys, my door open light is permanately on but only at half brightness. there is a noticable difference once the door is open to when its closed but all doors and boot closed propely the light still has a slight glow to it... its getting really annoying and i dont have an owners manual to see if this is a warning for sumthing...?? any1 got any ideas? cheers WILL
Maybe your tailgate is sitting too high. I had this problem when I first got the Z. Once I adjusted the rear door down a little the light went out.
yeh, real funny. now i now why mods have such tight rules...coz every1 has to be a bloody comedian... thanks pex by the way... ill give it a go.
Globes at less than normal intensity can also be an indicator of bad earth, shorting wiring, or crossed wiring bleeding off another circuit. Also check door switches are not wet or oily and creating a partial earth.
yep his right.. check for circuits... if u can be bothered pull the dash out and check all the connections.. first check the door sensors... some of them just age over time... spray it with some RP-7 or whatever its callled.... and check for shorts and moisture buildup in switches..
ill spray some WD-40 see how that goes.. ill try get it done tonight - it has been raining in syd and this only happend when the rain started so this could be the problem.
well i say that because alot of alarm units wont arm if the doors arnt closed or dont register as closed.. even though they are... first thing i check is the door switches and check for moisture... also what u can do is when u take it out.. and see if it still goes on and off (hand pushing the button) firm down and full release...
ouch.. sucks. LOL. actually this warning light was on for me too once apon a time then fiXed itself randomly one day just when iwas about to get something done... BTW.. does anyone know what it means if a code55 is on for about 5-10 seconds then goes off again ?
Holy crap, hows that for a coincidence. My is doing the same thing, started 2 nights ago with the rain. I shut all my doors and slowly after like 2-3 seconds the light slowly fades back to on. Tried pushing in the switches by hand, seem to work for a little longer but eventually the light comes back on. Hit a bump on the way to work yesterday and the light went out for a good minute. Will have a look when all this bloody rain stops. Cheers for the ideas guys. MoulaZX
