Would anyone who has recently made the change in ISP's from either bigpond or Yes Optusnet broadband over to Dodo's new adsl+2 like to share your opinion or thoughts on the change or on the quality of the service/connection.? many thanks,Col

dont go with DODO they are the worst ISP, i was never a customer but i use to work for a huge ISP and the horror stories that customers would tell me about DODO and the reason they would churn to my ISP would be classed as criminal

Dodo is dodgy. If you run over your download quota they'll slow you down and then charge you excess usage too.. at least, I think that's the case..

iiNet adsl is the way to go - Insider tip, if you sign up for Dialup, wait a day, then upgrade that dialup account to ADSL2+, on a 24month contract we'll wave the 79.95 setup fee and bung you a free modem..

The other thing is, if you add VoIP to your account the download speed increases as does the download quota, which is worth the extra $9.95 even if you don't use the VoIP..

Yeah, I work for iiNet, but I was a customer before I was an employee and it's well good shit.

Well I have been with DODO for about 5 years now and never had any trouble at all.
I have just changed to a $49 512 unlimited broadband plan(and because I have been with them for so long I was up-graded to 1.5 for the same price:D :D ) and have no complaints at all

im leaving iiNet this week after 4 years!

(i have iiphone and net) i rang my finacee in the UK for 30 minutes the other day and was charged $34 dollars.. Had problems getting my calls anwsered etc.. in the end it was because her fixed line is considered a 'Special' number? But they couldnt explain why.. Ive since called her a couple more times (hey i miss her like mad!) and its only been $2.00 as per their website.. As they wont recity the charges im saying good bye!!

Not only that but cause im only on a ADSL1 not ADSL 2 exchange my plan was 'grandfathered' and had my speed turned down from 1.5MB to 512 ! Very rude!

    Dodo, Internet that dies

Signed up to churn from dodo to internode on monday hope it goes thru tomorrow. Ive had dodo a couple of times (not my choice) and have had a few problems. In peak hours you'd be lucky to get an eighth of the apparent speed. The service is well over crowded it drops out from time to time and their tech support sucks.
Internode are great, always full speed good tech support and well priced. Last time i had internode i got no more than 5 ping in counterstrike :D

    Fair enough

I've been a Customer of iiNet's for almost 2 years.. I've only ever had one problem with my connection, and it was my fault. I'd plugged the Modem into the Filter instead of the Phone :D

I'm proud as to be working for iiNet.. I got my iiNet shirt yesterday, it might be 2 sized to big but it's the best damn shirt I have. It annoyes me when people bag the company, but it's understandable. **** ups happen, and the outcome desired by the customer isn't always achieved.

If you're unhappy with the plan/service/company/anything really, you should change ISPs. Better to let go with good graces than to fight and try to make you stay, yeah?

    Good one...

...you will love internode... I rang support the other day and got through to a techy within a couple of minutes, I was shocked in a most pleasant manner. :)
Great pings, as low as 150ms to some US servers... <40ms for most Aussie servers.
I get a constant 7.6Mbps connection and often exceed 6Mbps if the download site is really good.
Check the unmetred stuff too, excellent radio and game server and other games sites with huge files that are all unmetred... even the shaped speed is pretty good... more like 10k then 6k which is double usual 56k dialup.
    Good move.

I'm happy with iinet, to some extent...

been with them for a few years. I was with Netspace before that and they were also very good. Only changed to get ADSL2+. One thing that isn't very good with iinet is their ability to get line noise issues fixed.
