Well talking with a co-worker, and as i'm driving off, he has a look at my pedals, because we were just talking about speed limiters, and he shows me the chunk of plastic behind my accelerator and well, just looking for others opinions does it do anything if removed? and the main things i'm interested in are acceleration and max speed,

    With it on,

    With it off,

As you can sorta see, there is a lill more room now, but just checking because if it does, increase speed and acceleration, i will look at getting the metal part removed too.

    Thanks for the help guys,

    Wont make any diff.

whether on or off. When it comes to speed limiting, that is controlled by your ECU tune. it won't instantly give you more accelleration by removing it, just look a bit untidy. ;) :p

The thing that stops the throttle opening any further is a chunk of metal on the plennum, nothing to do with the pedal at all :p

Its there to stop you heaving on the accelerator cable and butterflies when your flooring it, and thus reducing wear and tear.

Yeah it makes your butterfly go past 90 degrees to 150 degrees and gives you an immediate 40hp atleast. Guaranteed.

Dude, put the plastic back on before you stretch your throttle cable and/or break something. You won't get any extra throttle with it off, just break things as Gazza says

Don't want to discourage you too much, but maybe you shouldn't touch the mechancial bits (or any other bits for that matter) of your car until you have a good understanding on how it all works... Read ALL the tech articles and you will be laughing! :zlove:

    less power

    hhhahhha lol

man if any thing it will give u less power cos when u floor the pedal it completly opens the throttle bodys the butterfly valves open at 90deg

if it goes over say 98 deg it will be like when ur pedal is just rufly 3 to 5mm away from this plastic bit so in the end ul make ur car slower

hhahahhah man if only 40 hp was this simple

    mike :)

No, as I said before the metal tab on the plennum restricts how far the throttles can open.
