hi all... i'm looking at selling my s13 silvia and getting another zed as my little sil hasnt got enough torque to keep me happy and is pretty much a lower grade/quality car over an N/A zed. i've had two 2+2's and i loved them, heaps of room, pretty quick for an N/A and very comfortable to drive, i've sat in a couple 2+0's and sorta liked them but not as much as a 2+2, i get a weird feeling because of the lack of open space behind me lol. so my question is to those who have had both 2+0 and 2+2, what are the differences comfort wise?, what do you prefer?, do they really handle better? is it a major inconvenience only having 2 seats? just little questions like those that i have on my mind now. i've been through this site many times with my last zeds so the usual zed facts are stuck in my mind but i've only ever driven a 2+2 so the 2+0 thing is new in a way... anyone around wollongong want to take me for a spin in a 2+0?
I have both, coming from a NA 2+0 (slicktop) to a TT 2+2. While I can't really compare the comfort / handling as both cars have modified suspension, I still prefer the 2 seater, as it has a much more compact length and is more stylish as an overall interior I think. I have never regretted having only 2 seats, When it comes to the crunch in a group situation, there is always someone else who has a 'normal' car and can drive. Think back on how many times you has more than 2 passengers in your previous cars when considering this.
I've had both, but only driven my 2+2 in anger. I've driven a few 2+0's and I prefer them. Less compromise, deeper boot and more sporty IMO.
i have had both so here is my opinion so my question is to those who have had both 2+0 and 2+2, what are the differences comfort wise? no difference what do you prefer? 2+0...you feel more like your in a sports car, in a cabin sort of, more enclosed. do they really handle better? meh is it a major inconvenience only having 2 seats? no. i have never been in a situation where i have wondered, damn, i wish i had another two seats. the rear seats in the 2+2 are useless for extra passengers anyway
i've been a 2 seater fan boy since i can remember. yes it feels tighter inside and gives you that claustrophobic feel which i quite like ended up with a 2+2 as it came along @ the right price and condition. the rear seats have seen quite a lot of use and i don't regret having them.
I had a 2+2 auto and now have a 2+0 manual. The back seats do come in handy for the occasional short trip passenger and for storing gear you can reach while driving. Back seat passengers have to spread their legs either side of the front seats to fit in the back usually. Nice one-liner there for the ladies ... "you can hop in the back but you will have to spread your legs". I can still fit my pushbike in the 2+0 with a passenger on board. Handling in both is fantastic. For me the 2+0 has a more sporty feel about it when inside. Both look like fabulous sports cars from outside. I would base your decision on your lifestyle requirements.
hmmn... i hate giving people lifts, hardly ever do they offer to shout some fuel and i'm too good of a person to ask, it always ends up with me being out of pocket and out of my way so not having the extra seats would come in handy. i'm not single in anyway, shape or form and am happy being that way so having 3 girls in the car just isnt on... although it was back in my old car, more like 4-5 on the silly days lol how is the claustrophobic feeling though? from going from the 2+2 zed to the s13 i've noticed it was way smaller in the cabin and i couldnt get comfortable being in such a small space for quite a while so this would be the major factor... i dont think im claustrophobic but then again, i've never been stuck in a cupboard, closet or coffin from memory lol ohh... i want to slam it, put on some 33gtr wheels and then eventually VSKF's in a stupid width n offset and get as much chassis strentgh as i can so all the braces available and possibly a cage at some stage. was doing this with my s13 but there not very good N/A's...not enough grunt compared to the zed.
if you don't like a small cabin, get another 2+2. 2 seaters have a tight feel to them. some will like it, some don't.
The best thing about 2+2 and those rear seats is that they fold down. With the angle of the rear window, you can fit much more stuff in by sitting on top of those folded down rear seats. Practicality FTW
