    Hey folks.

Its only just now been brought to my attention that my perticular vg30de is a jdm version, and apparently kind of rare.

the bloke i bought it of told me it was out of a nissan cima, which seems to match up.

anyways. i was wodnering if anyone knew of any differences between the jdm vg30e and the non jdm versions?(apart from the throttle bodie/plenum design)

    Cheers,

    Pat

having the vg30de out of the cima makes you instantly less attractive to females, and more desirable to the friendly bikers at the blue oyster bar!

Told you man, imformation about these JDM motors is scarce and the information you will find 99% of the time is wrong anyway. The only person who could tell you the real differences is someone who has stripped down both and compared them side by side.

-the engine, with loom and computer. engines done 100xxxk's. all ancilleries attached. serviced every 6000k.
-manual gearbox, reconditioned about 20xxxk ago. exedy HD clutch installed at time of recon. full rebuild kit brand new in box.

next on the shoping list is a workshop manual for the nissan 300zx and also oen for the nissan cima, so i can compare any differences between the two.

4 valve per cylinder. no typo, just shit interpretation.

Are you putting it in a zed? obviously you'll need to piss off the exhaust manifold and get the twins off the zed as I don't think it won't clear the firewall but it looks pretty similar. Rocker covers are obviously different but if it say's its a vg30 from nissan, jdm or not, then I'm sure you'll find its the same engine. Some bolt ons may vary but they're the same just like the z31 (I think) has the same block. Just like an SR out of a silvia to an SR from a pulsar, 4g63 evo to 4g63 galant. rb skyline to rb stagea, 2ltr and 2.6ltr astron sigma to 2ltr and 2.6ltr astron magna. Know what I mean? :)

no this will be sitting snugly in my r31 soon enough with any luck.

i know that this engine from the cima is more or less the same as the z32 from the Z, the main reason for the workshop manuals is to compare wiring just so i know.
