I pretty much drive like a granny these days (too few points to play with) but I needed to cover about 150 metres quickly from a stop start to avoid missing the green arrow (you know how it is sometimes). Damn car lost traction as boost kicked in in both first and second gear. No need to push it in third as my mission was accomplished I was quite impressed given I only run 12/13psi and it was 30 degrees ambient temperature. I think she wil be a handful for me on the 1/4 mile strip in the middle of winter I've definately noticed a performance improvement since zed4life did my plenum pull, associated bypasses and S2 PTU install. Thanks for listening:zlove:.
I run 12/13 psi and it loves to get loose in first and second gear too, but as you saw at the drags, no problems with traction at all
mods? I struggle to lose traction at wot, chirps during gearchange but thats the best I can do without dumping clutch at high revs or boosting over an uneven surface and that's with 215rwkw. What's your secret?? Maybe I'm not trying hard enough?
No problem with traction at the drags in my white zed either Kieren. It was an auto and running 12/13 psi. However I reckon I'll have trouble doing a 13.5 second run in the red zed as its a manual and harder to get a decent launch with. Should be fun trying though.
Maybe its the 3 degrees of negative camber on the rear. I'll be installing adjustable rear upper control arms next week so we'll see if I have the same 'problem' with more rubber on the road. Also, when I say I'm losing traction, its more like axle tramp as the tyres struggle for grip. Not full lighting them up in 'Dub-like' burnout fashion. It feels a bit like Pex's new beast breaking traction as boost kicks in, but your teeth don't rattle
your tyres are probably just too grippy martin. i'm guessing you use really good stuff? i used to seriously underestimate tyres. not anymore. having tried micky Ts on a friend's car they are quite simply amazing. i think it was on 20psi at the time which was tested later at 364rwkw. didn't spin up at all on a launch and it blew through 1st, 2nd, 3rd without any grip issues. came up to a T intersection, thought i'd try and get it sideways, massive clutch dump in first, spun up for a second then gripped up again. any boasting about loss of traction easily just means you need better tyres and/or you need to dial out that -3 degrees of camber because that is seriously useless for launches.
tell you what, my red wheels would look nice on your car I have ma-z1's, from what i've heard about the v1's is that they overheat after prolonged use and lose grip. that's only one report but still.
lol you're not trying hard enough mate. can i have a go? then again i hear badxtc's already had his way with your car. drifting and lighting them up. he's a naughty man.
