hooray my zed decided to have a hissy fit today, and quite possibly at the worst time too because i cant afford to write a few days off to fix it.

anyway was wondering if people could help diagnose the problem so i can figure out what is wrong...

friday at about midday, not a very hot day i drove the zed for about 15 minutes. i had the window down and i notice a very faint smell which smelt almost like brake fluid on the engine, very distinct. as i got close to my destination i noticed that my heat guage was going up which is very very very unusual because mine has never strayed from dead centre. by the time i got to where i was going temp guage had hit 2 thirds and coolant was pissing out all over the front of the engine but thank god i didn't cook it and switched it off by this time.

now i have narrowed it down to 1 of 2 things.

either a) its just a hose which has split hence the coolant everywhere

or b) my heads are cooked but that wouldn't really explain the coolant.

i couldnt see any leaks but it seemed to be coming from the front of the engine? maybe under the plenum?

anyway if it is the heads i will get a chance to fix the oil leak which is somewhere back there as well.

any help figuring out what happened here would be greatly appreciated.

Might be from your water pump also,

or split top or bottom hose. If coolant sprays onto your belts, it goes everywhere making it harder to track it down.
