    After posting my 1/4 mile times it was suggested that the TT was running in safety boost and it appears it was.

    I did an ECU check and got code 55 but, after driving up a steep range to Toowoomba...the car would stall at traffic lights, run rough and not make full boost.

    So....

    I wound 2mm clockwise on the Crank sensor to retard the timming a bit.

    Now after the same drive this weekend just gone...no stalling, full boost, and all running smooth.

    On the 1st trip before I did this I did here on two occasions three quick pings whilst driving around the town.....so thank god for the det. sensor!

    PS......Rodding out the radiator is also another very good thing to get done......external temp guagee only moves a flys fart no matter the conditions.

    but how do you measure a fly's fart ...?????? .. looks like i'll need

    yet another gauge ....!!!!!:LOL::LOL::wacko::wacko:

    I can't see how retarding timing could have made a difference to idle or boost but pleased you've sorted it... I'd suspect that the CAS wiring connector is perhaps dirty/loose and when you adjusted the CAS, you 'fixed' the prob... Would pay to properly clean it at some stage as if it can be 'fixed' by nudging, it will almost certainly 'unfix' itself at some stage.

    Thanks Mark.....

    You've helped me out a few times on the phone.

    I was only getting the stalling and rough idle after a trip up the Toowoomba range. I first thought it was due to the change in atmospheric pressure or similar as the car did not overheat.

    Then on one trip (last w'end) I heard a few knocks/pings.

    This is the reason I retarded the timing.

    I thought the rough idle/stall may have been a result of a richer mix due to safety boost being activated and at a higher altitude. Air pressure changing pretty quickly as it flew up the range!

    You have always been right to date with advice to me.....so I will clean the CAS connectors as well.

    You may be right but more likely to be your IACV unit also needs a clean and base idle is too low ... not to mention injector / coilpack connectors etc...
