Just fix a slight coolant leak in my car, clamp on the top hose had come loose, Only problem now is idle wont drop below 1500, tried adjusting base idle tried cleaning TPS sensor connections tried cleaning cool temp sensor filled up coolant, all air bubbles are gone there was abit of coolant splashed onto the front of the engine but it didnt get soaked or anything like that, temps are normal, no error codes anyone provide any advise as to what could have gone wrong taken the car for a very short drive, there is no problem with power or delivery, the idle just wont drop
Simple things first, your aircon/demister is off? And by top hose you mean the return hose to the radiator yeah?
I was getting coolant temp sensor but only after I un plugged it and didn't plug it in right By the top pipe I mean return to engine via the lower hard pipe. Does anyone know if the car will be safe to Drive with the high idle. On the short drives I've done. Everything else is fine just the idle I'm fresh out of ideas. An really need a car
The code for temp sensor has been cleared yeah? how high did you rev on the drive? is it possible you have something choking your intake, that would increase idle but it'd die under load. Other than that anything I can think of would give a code normaly, many aftermarket components? bodged AFM or O2 sensors may have an effect. Also have you run O2 sensor diagnostics to see whether its running lean or rich?
