hey guys.

Probably a stupid question, can you compression test an engine out of the car?

I can turn the vg over by hand and without sounding stupid I just don't think thsts right, could be completely wrong but can't hear any compression stroke so worried this engine is keput

 

Can you bolt the bell-housing and starter motor to the engine?

If so then yes, you can compression test your Vg30 out of car

 

A leak test would be much easier for you tho, and would yield more accurate results.

 

yep just bell housing and starter motor will do your job.
