Would anybody happen to know this colour code Would you say it's a satin finish ? This is the closest to the colour on a zed that I could find but its a bit to light brown for my liking. I'm trying to find something a bit more deeper if that makes sense.
so you are looking for the nissan colour code for their colour that resembles that brown.... or have I got that totally wrong
No not the Nissan colour because I highly doubt Nissan does this colour. Soooo if anyone knows who makes it please let me know
Ok will go through some colour cards at work tomorrow lunch time and see if I can find something similar for you off topic Anyone know what that front bumper is? it looks very similar to what I was attempting to achieve
If I lined up to cars same colour 1 gloss paint with clear 1 satin paint with gloss clear Would they look the same ?
direct gloss paint is not normally cleared over but is not normally a solid (no metallic or pearl) colour, base coat (which you then put a clear over) is sort of satin finish, not a true glossy finish but if it goes on real wet will come out quite glossy. Matt and satin finish has as much to do with the clear that goes over it as it does the base colour. To your colour code question, I had a quick think/look today and one of the readily checkable factory colours that you should be able to go to a dealer and see this weekend is mitsubishi C06 - its a current colour and this pic looks a bit darker than the true colour, have done a Gq patrol in this and it looks awesome http://old.mitsubishi-motors.co.th/Pajero-Sport/V6/images/pajero_v6_c06.png This image looks closer to actual real life colour http://old.mitsubishi-motors.co.th/Lancer-EX/GLS-LTD/images/lancer_gls_c06.png
See if you can a good quality photo printout of the colour, and take it a specialist auto paint shop. They should be able too match it up better or damn close enough.
Thank you so much for your efforts and getting back to me. Those pictures are way to goldy brown for me. Is it possible to use that colour as a base and mix other colours into it to make a custom colour. For instance I can see a lot of deep olive in the paint on the old jag Or am I playing with fire here
Its absolutely possible to mix up a custom colour, best bet for that is to actually go see a Automotive paint shop and have a talk, they should have colour cards and literally thousands of them - I would suggest going to an automotive one of course but going to a regular place like bunnings can get get you cards (all probably non metallic) to look at but the colour would still have to be matched with auto paint.
Beryllium metallic is listed as a Infinity (so should be mazda) colour - code c16 The colour is very close to the one I posted earlier but I actually think they are not as gold/bronze as you might think
Bud we seem to be not understanding each other. I'm after the colour of the jag NOT the colour of the zed. I couldn't find the stance nation article because I was looking for the jag not the zed. Hence why I couldn't find it I only posted the brown zed as a reference to the closest thing I could find on a zed. Still after a more deep olive, dark grey sort of colour like the jag
