I might stay at home, the weather's not that great, overcast, cool breeze requiring a jumper, ..... Stuff it, havent missed one since the first event so I do the WAKE UP call and soon kids and missus are in the 2 ZX's and we're off We make a late arrival but still manage to find a good spot, it appears eveyone else has having the same decision making problems I had. The cars kept rolling in throught the day as people decided they may aswell go. With the car parked and glistening in the now strong sunlight it was time for a gander...... OZIZED.... spotted under the usual portable car cover with his silver porshe and busy as hell answering the onlookers questions, I figure I'll get back n have a chat later..... Oh shyte WHATS THAT....... a very clean and tidy ZX of the CONVERTABLE type & in an unusual color, a sort of um .... err .... closest I can make it is a metalic Pauls Milk ICE BREAK bottle bronze / brownish color.... Moments later I'm chatting with Doug ( owner) and we chatted for the best part of an hour, admiring each others cars as you do., Meet doug's wife and soon the conversation turns to websites etc ..... So doug hows the forum 'feel' ? .... Naturally I've emailed Doug and his wife links to the forum.... GOR run, and a couple of members with 'stuff' for sale..... Caz1 and the Gonz ! After we finish chatting its time to get back to OZIZED for a yak..... & he's still surounded by onlookers... So I do the 'eye spy' thing into the revealed engine bay..... He's made changes........ oooo thats interesting, the extra injectors been removed and .... Ahhhhh Nice work :drool: I'm not gunna spoil it and give out the changes, but their trick..... Very Trick So me and the family wander back to our ZX's and the conversation tends towards it being near home time.... Before I know it I'm chatting again with another couple... about their ZX's...... yeah you read that right it means MORE than 1 And .... they only live about 15 mins from me... and know where I work.... and my dad ... and .... You get the picture chalk up another email with links to this site ! As for the actual show...... Traders are there with everything for ya car, from Shannos insurance that had a huge display & even with the GOGO mobiel with them to the usual Tshirt displays, food stalls, go fast bits etc etc etc .... One thing I did get was a hat, custom embroided with a VIC rego plate and my number on it... for $20 ! Blowers & turbos everywhere, NoS and methanol quenched the air I was frantically sucking in ..... Have I died ???? Is this what heaven is like ???? I hope so :drool: Time to go.... Sh*t mungrel :help: Ring father inlaw..... glad I bought him a jump pak for xmas 20 mins later and we've still got click click click Ok we'll roll start it.... its an auto !, but I know that once ya get up to 60kph the spinning wheels will turn the tailshaft and in turn the auto box and the pump will bind up enough to turn the motor over..... and you can roll start an auto this way..... EXCEPT .... and this I now know .... When it has had a shift kit and lockup installed = NO ROLL STARTING Mutter mutter mutter mutter & How embarrasing to leave a car show under TOW All sorts of things are tried to unveil the culprit... starter issues, broken or unplugged wire etc, battery, lose conection..... what the F.. is IT ! We decide to give the now slightly drained jump pak one more go...... and the purple beast struggles ... coughs.... splutters and just as the pak gives up the last of its life.... The Zed breathes into life :zlove: Back to the show to gather up the missus n kids ..... Leave the zed running cause i doubt it will start again.... A few ppl wander over and do the "what was wrong" question thing.... "how embarasing for you".... "Buy a ford mate...." I had a good day bar for the battery issue, I forgot a few highlights tho so I'd better add them.... The policeman that decided to start writing down rego numbers... that got boo'd from the event from the crowd and the guy on the PA system that kept us entertained with his sarcastic remarks towards this policeman.... very witty guy on the mike.... had me and plenty of others in stitches The guy that decided to steal a car that was on display, at first we thought it was a setup thing .... then the divy wagon arrived and a couple of blood noses later we figured it was real...... took 4 coppers to "subdue" him and about 10 more mins to get him into the van ! One of the bands they had on stage did one of the best renditions of ACDC stuff I've heard in ages I caught up with some mates I havent seen for a year and made some more "new mates" aswell & Compared to previous years events this years show had by far the most amazing custom paint jobs I've ever seen be they airbrushing / metalic/ pinstripes / flame jobs/ gohst paint work / harlequins..... simply amazing stuff ! One car had done the outer partof the rims in Harlequin and the centres were chrome..... the effect when this car was moving was awsome ! The Corvette club won best club attendannce Again We could have beaten em ya know ! ... posiable cruise event for next year ????, if you Melb guys get it together and run a cruise down I'll organise a display area for as many ZX's you can bring down Pics...... As some of you are aware ... I dont post pics.... Bad experiance a few years back ended up with an ugly court case that I won but was financially expensive to fight. But yeah I took a few
