Anybody know what sort of signals should be going between the ptu and coilpacks? My baby won't start, found it to be the ptu that was blown, got a new one, and that blew in like a min, getting +12v out if the coilpack into the ptu. Doesn't seem right. Any ideas?Cheers John
Do a search on coil packs There was a good technical account of the interrelationship of the coils and the PTU when I searched. Unfortunately I cannot remember the author. I suspect my coils are flawed as well and my old PTU gave up the Ghost. New PTU arrived on my doorstep from US for $275 AUS. Started first pop, but still have irregular idle and fluctuating revs.
Coil Packs I'm not an auto electrician but our company does sell new Coil packs by Splitfire. You don't have to be Einstein to figure out that the majority of Z32 300s are now well over ten years old and certainly need new coils. Also these are designed for big boost and as such do not flood the spark with fuel. More info at www.lynxcorp.com.aum if it helps
I had a browse for coilpacks on that website. The information is either not there or extremely well hidden. Cheers:zlove: Barry
Lynx offer a CDI Ignition Setup Under the You want to check out the Lynx Splitfire system for 300zx, in fact there was a post about it in the for sale by business section. I know you can get them through Perfect Runwho may be end up being the cheapest source going by their other prices! update The lynx site lists these as $1600 for a kit!! But perfectrun have them at roughly $531?? Unless I've made a mistake somewhere that seems like a massive saving!
