So I did a ring around and got a price for 4 new Munro shock Absorbers. $660
So my next question is, is the stock suspension good enough to justify spending 660
Or do I just go and get coil overs? And if so is there any good coil overs under a grand? Or do I really need to be spending big bucks to get something that isn't rubbish?
Let me know what you have and how it rides
    Thanks from Rory.

coilovers really only give you two advantages:

    a) they are usually adjustable (if you want a track setting and a daily setting, you can turns some knobs and have a party)

    b) they are a matched spring/shock 'pacakge'

getting cheap coilovers can immediatley negate these benifits by being non-adjustable or a poorly matched combo...

If you do not need adjustable ride height, camber or damper bound/rebound then coilovers might be a waste.

Getting a good set of shocks and some suitable height springs will be just as good - and generally a good set of shocks costs as much as a bad set of coilovers.

My NA zed had some kind of replacement shocks, nolothane caster rod and LCA bushes up front and it was a totally different car on the road compared to my TT, all the TT has is lowered springs.

TLDR; if you dont need adjustability - then yes the stock setup is great

No. Unless you find a bargain second hand. The monroes will be a lot better than cheap coilovers if you don't want the adjustability. Catch is, you probably also need new bushes and bump stops that I don't think will be included with the shocks plus your springs are probably sagging if it's not a low k car.

Rob is currently running a bulk import of base level teins that you may still be able to get in on, maybe not, $1100 for a set is probably one of the best budget options. Have a look in the for sale by business section.
