    Hey yall.

SO im not very happy with my clutch... It hooks up WAY too high on the pedal travel. I mean, theres no travel at all, the friction point is rrrriiiggghhht up the top, as soon as i press the clutch, right there.

Can this be fixed via adjustment? I do feel a little bit of slip when i change hard into second...

You *may* be able to get some more life out of it with adjustment, but really it is time to replace it soon.

Ive got a heavy duty exedy clutch kit that i got send which is for the TT whereas my zed is NA, and they wouldnt give me my $$ back. The box has been opened and had been tried to fit but never used at all, and just getting dust in the garage. If you want you can have it for $200pickup, exactly what i paid for it. If not i can arrange shipping for you at own cost. Pm me if interested.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

With a hydraulic clutch, residual line pressure is released to atmo via the recouperating port in the master cylinder when the pedal is fully released so regardless of how worn the actual clutch is, there should be pedal free travel even if the the cluch is so knackered that it has bottomed the slave cylinder piston!

Just in case, try shortening your clutch pedal pushrod to create some pedal freeplay to start with to ensure that the recouperating port is uncovered and not holiding some line pressure which is "riding" the clutch.

Now, try shoving the clutch release arm back hard against the slave cylinder and see iffen it moves back.
If the arm/piston is already hard back (bottomed) in the slave then the clutch diaphragm spring is poking too far backwards indicating the friction faces are worn well beyond limits.
This also unloads spring clamping force and further slippage is your friend.

If so, you could try a bit of ghetto work and remove a mm or 2 from the little slave cyl pushrod to "unload" the clutch release arm for some added life unti you get your head/wallet around a clutch change.

I can pick it up, but my clutch is only a year or so old, so first I'd like to check if it is a goner and if i need a new one. Thanks mate.

if you wanna come for a drive to Berwick Eli. I can have a look for you.

Unless it is screwed because it HAS been slipping. There is no reason a clutch so new should be buggered.

You may have a clutch master or slave issue. BUT do what Tass said and it will give you an idea where the problem lies.

I had an problem with my clutch and it turned out my slipping issue was an incorrectly adjusted clutch switch stopping the pedal from fully releasing. I am sure in the mean time the clutch plate was worn way more than it should have been for the short time it had been in.

ide say get it adjusted before going out and buying a new one. My sisters r33 had a similar thing, She liked her old clutch where the friction point was really low so as soon as you take the pedal of it hits, after a while it moved up so she had to let the pedal out more before it hit, It ended up being that one of the screws somewhere came lose and had to be tightened ( this is what the mechanic said ) i dunno what screw it was or where it was though lol
