Does anyone know a good manual clutch service place in Sydney? My clutch has started severely slipping - I can't even get the car moving from a stop without reving up to about 7000 revs when the clutch finally grabs and the car lurches forward.I've tried UAS where I normally go but they can't see the car before May 6th and I need it to be operational again before that. I did see Midas at Ryde and they told me I needed a new clutch, pressure plate and bearings. They quoted $1500. I thought I'd shop around quickly first on Tuesday and see if anyone knew any good clutch service places. Thanks,James
Also try >> Autotech Engineering 18-20 George Street, Granville NSW 2142 Ph: 02 98971378 Fax:02 98973473They will do a top job:YD . Just ask for Spiro =) .Cheers Kerry
It's a moot point now... ...I took the chance of driving the car to a date tonight and the clutch failed entirely, I was able to get it in to the car park of a Hungry Jacks at Bass Hill where it will wait for the tow truck tomorrow to pick it up and take it to a repairer Thanks for your help anyway guys.James
Depending on what clutch Midas are fitting > $1500 is too much. UAS have an organic type clutch and a 6 puck cerametallic clutch both available on an exchange basis for less than $600, even if they can't install it. I don't think Midas would be fitting anything too exotic.I am having a clutch done this week as well, and with 2 new front wheel bearings and a rear main seal done as well I am expecting to pay between $1200-1300.
